Mine is coming along nicely. I love those little exhaust nozzles, a nice detail touch.
I want to remove the rear turret, or at least the plastic cover, but its glued on tight and I don't want to rip the tail off! Anyone have some good advice for how to get this thing apart?

Thanks, got it, and I just realized the rear turret is exactly the same as the front one. (That might come in handy later, when we think about spare parts)Originally posted by TiredIronGRB View Post

Here is the greenhouse nose with your graphic installed. I removed the foam at the bottom and scraped off the paint to uncover the bottom windows. Looks great!
I plan to add a "receiver" to the gun barrel, and maybe a suspension line. Fun stuff!

Thanks, TI! I'm assuming the pin on the arm that screws onto the bottom of the turret would go into this slot arm that would be screwed onto the servo?
Last question, and you have been extremely helpful! What size servo did you order to fit into the foam receptacle on the nose turret area inside? All mine are too big.
Thanks again for all your help! Beautiful airplanes you have!

It takes a 9g servo, glad to help...:)Originally posted by davegee View Post

I just ordered the Callie's nomenclature decals. Does the location sheet come with it or do you have to e-mail Callie to send it separately?

I received my B-24 the other day. Very impressed with it! Not one to leave well enough alone, I am making some changes to it to replicate a B-24H model in the markings of a plane my dad flew with the 446th BG in WWII. One of the experiments I did was convert the "Consolidated" nose gun turret to a "Emerson" turret. The Emerson turret was basically cylindrical and the Consolidated had angled glass on the front of it. I ended up cutting out the piece of angled glass (plastic) in front, and replaced it with a straight up and down piece I borrowed from the back of the tail turret. Worked out fine.
Other changes are the markings, a few of which I had Callie make up for me. I'm hoping to maiden it after I get all the details done in a couple of weeks or so.5 Photos

Thanks, TI. I am off to my hobby store to get a couple of 9g servos to run the nose and top turrets. Did you just cut a slot in a standard servo arm to get the pin to ride back and forth as the servo turns?Originally posted by TiredIronGRB View PostVery nice work and even better story behind your livery, the release of this plane is really bringing to light just how many families around the world are connected to the B-24.

[QUOTE=Hardway;n110304]Thanks Hardway. I checked my e-mail about 4 hours after ordering the decals and Callie had already sent the PDF. The decals will be shipped tomorrow, great service from Callie as usual! :)Originally posted by Callie Graphics View PostAt long last, here is the B-24 Nomenclature placement sheet.
