I've ran the LX B-25 nose wheel (too hard) and the 2.25" Robart and I started to change out the mains to Robarts as well but decided to just leave the wheels stock...but I might change them on both B-24s tomorrow:Silly:

They're the A-10 wheels...if I get struts it will be a while, hopefully Alpha will post specs.

Verrry interesting...........:Thinking: The new oleo scissor strut for the 24 has to be same length as the stock wire strut.
Tell me the length of the wire strut from axle to trunnion. Ya know what I'm conjuring here if they are same length as A-10 main strut;)

Got home from vacation last night, and opened my Lib and got her assembled except for the guns and plastic bits. Tested all the electronics and everything works. Will finish it up, do the panel lines, and add decals over the next couple nights for a maiden on Saturday. I will also be ordering the nomenclature decals from Callie too.

Ladies and Gentlemen "Calvert N Coke." Heres the story about the actual bird and her crew that served in the European theater hunting U boats and Surface ships. It was fun and is and always will be a work in progress but for now i think she might be ready to take to the skies. This is my official first paint project bird and have a few more lined up in the future. There was a lot of learning along the way but i'm happy with the way she turned out. She's definitely one of a kind for now but if you havent noticed, I've got mainly a naval aviation theme going on in my hangar of RC aircraft. I hope you enjoy looking at the pictures as much as I do. And the list of things to complete never stops!

Go Navy ! What's not to like about this one? Very well done. Looks great. Now go find some Jerry subs ! This plane is an absolute modder's dream come true and I'm not I would consider a true Modder like TI, Brandemoon, RCjetdude and others . I'm more of a " Mudder" LOL Just that there were so many upgrades and livery variations from the start of production till the end of the war.

Hi Woody: could you be more specific on the B-17 ball turret details for the B-24? The B-17 is a slightly smaller scale model than the B-24 if you are talking about the 63 inch wingspan model. I'd like to add a ball turret but would like to know what the diameter of the ball is to see if I could live with the scale difference. Maybe it would look fine, I don't know.

I'm not the only one lol. One of my friends who's a huge aviation nut pretty much got me into that mindset lol.

Davegee...........I'm not really sure as to the scale of the B-17. For me it will serve the purpose. I hope to be able to extend/retract.In the air the difference in scale will be hard to tell. It'll be easier then trying to scratch build one.

Might be a moot point as they appear to be sold out.

I had asked TI for that info on post #744 but he hasn't posted anything since last evening. Hope he's OK. :Thinking:

I measure the strut length of the main gear at 120mm from axle to where it mates with the trunnion.
