I made a painting guide for RC jets using the Hornet as an example, hope it proves helpful to some!

I don't do these kind of videos often as they take quite some extra work... but here you have a new one, featuring my hands on the transmitter while I fly the F-22 ;)
Hopefully that helps clear some doubts about how I approach certain maneuvers.
Here's the real-speed version of the video, no slow-motion:

And now for something completely different.
I rescued an old 1900mm Seagull models T34 C that was about to be burned by the owner, It weighed 6.2kg with a lot of lead in the nose. and few like a dog, The heavy weight and short triangulation of the original model wheels lead to it flipping over on grass taxi, .It struggled to get off the ground, broke the canopy, bust the cowl etc and the owner got fed up with it so i decided to have a go at a tail dragger version extended nose 3 inches to get rid of the need for ballast and chose fixed gear to simplify things and reduce weight The canopy is made from the surviving bits of the old canopy plus some acrylic sheet with a rear scuttle in balsa added I reworked the cowl to fit the new model. I had 4 oleos so I went for double oleo fixed gear and pants a la Ryan Stamm as the oleos I had were not strong enough for single leg gear. I had a couple of unused analogue standard size servos for elevator and rudder and steerable tail wheel( small oleo) New 5055 430 kv motor 1500watt, 62amp on 6s. ( about 150wattsper pound in old money ), prop, spinner 125 amp esc, new aileron and flap servos, film coveriing , rods, horns main alloy wing tube etc etc It sort of evolved over winter. It now weighs 4,6kg,incl battery
84gms/dm2 no ballast required, flys better, floats on in to the grass field and handles the grass up to 2 inch long in winter no problem.

paulrkytek love the "egg drop"!! Wish I had this around when I was a kid growing up during Halloween. We were all forced to rely on our "pitching" arm to hurl eggs at neighbors houses. Kept telling the cops we were just practicing for the upcoming games
and the field was too dark to practice at. At least I was able to develop a wicked curve ball to get around trees!

True, especially when the compensation is the enjoyment of freely sharing the passion for building and flying with othersOriginally posted by James View PostIf passion and compensation didn't go hand in hand then no one would do anything in life

About 7 years ago I bought my first foamie Mustang a 1450mm wingspan version in silver by Lanyu models.( they probably do not exist anymore) It came with fixed gear and no flaps and it has flown as a trouble free all year round flyer since.. The last couple of weeks have been cold and windy so I decided to repaint . This coming Easter we are having an Easter Fun Fly at DDMAC complete with target egg bomb drop and I have adapted the model to do same and had my first three successful bomb run flights today on a calm sunny day with a steady 3 deg C temperature. I am now putting together a crack aerobatic team, the Red Friars(photo below). The facial expressions could be because I stuck holes in them and blew out their brains with a straw. It worked however as there were no breakages as the fearless Friars hit the target field. The shells weigh around 8gms each . Of course not only do I get a crack non parachute team but I also get a cake and some scones from the donated brains

You are just judging everyone else, but don't want to be judged yourself, funny eh? ;)Originally posted by quitcherbitchen View PostGo ahead and do what you want, but don't judge me.
Now here's a new Gripen video out of which I won't make a penny (at least directly) because I used music on it (and my RC4ever channel isn't monetized to begin with), but that I still spent like an entire day working on. Food for thought.
James, I'm totally on board with everything you said.

James don't waste your time. He's obviously not going to "QuitHisBitchen". Do what you feel is right and if the consumers like it, you'll know. I rarely am able to make the Friday Live shows and am not a $1 member, but the few times I have other members have given me a "shout out" and when I've made a comment or asked a questions, you guys have always answered it so I always feel more than welcomed (even though I'm a cheapskate). If someone doesn't watch the Friday show and/or doesn't feel the need to put up $1 a month, so be it, last I recalled it's a free country and no ones forcing them to watch/pay, just maybe mask/vac, but that's another subject.
BTW, as long as I'm in the New and Improved Bitchen Thread, you missed some of my "outstanding"
in flight shots (taken by someone else obviously) of my F-4 that I posted here at the end of December and I'm sure you just forgot to include them in Friday's show.
I'm just saying, we all look for just a little lovin to stroke our egos. Hopefully from this point on we can get back to actually FLYIN!!
