I shot a video earlier this evening with a camera mounted under the fuselage, its a pretty neat view because you can see the gear and flaps. At the end of the video when I landed the camera bailed out! First time that I landed on grass with this model, it worked fine.

Is yours binding up when retracted? Or are you like me and want to be able to adjust steering trim separate from the flying rudder? I'm using a Lemon DSMX 10-ch. with satellite. A 7-ch stabilizer PLUS would also work and give a little stabilization for those cross wind wing waggles.Comment

I have the first 4 channels as usual T,A,E,R. 5 is my gear, then Aux1 is flaps. I have the steering servo on Aux 2.
Almost to tears here trying to get it to work.

I'm a believer in if it ain't broke don't fix it. Since it's not binding and working as designed I'm leaving it be.

Love the angle and is that a 3d printed pod made for the runcam? Would love to try that out with the stabilization of a gopro7, but I wonder if the height/foward facing square shape would cause too much drag.Comment

You can't use AUX2 (ch.8) for a servo* when you don't have a channel 8 on the receiver. Your RX only has 6 channels. You say you have the steering servo on AUX2 BUT what's it plugged into on the 600SP? *If it's anything like the Lemon equivalent, Ch. 8 can be used to control the "master gain" of the gyro even without a 8th port but that's a different scenario. To work a servo, it must be plugged into a port.

Got it. I didn't know that the 600SP had a 7th channel. I see now that the "bind" port is also the AUX2 port. He's good to go. He just needs to know how the do the mix. Here's one of my mixes to get the steering working via the gear switch:
Note that the switch is whatever you use for the gear. Mine is "A". Yours may be different.Comment

Ok, so after pulling out my last hair this is how my DX8G2 tx is set up. Keep in mind I'm using the Admiral rx600sp which is a 7 channel rx using the bind/aux2 port.
Servos in ports.
1.T
2.A
3.E
4.R
5.Gear
6.Flaps
7.Steering
Rx port assignments:
1..T
2..A
3..E
4..R
5..Gear
6..Aux1..flap
7..Aux2..Aux2
Channel input config:
1..T
2..A
3..E
4..R
5..Gear.A
6..Aux1
7...Aux2..Rknob
Mixing:
P-mix 1: -G-> Ger
Rate....0.....5%
Offset.....0
Switch.....On
P-mix 2 : Rud> Ax2
Rate....100%.....100%
Offset.......0
Trim.....Inh
Switch...Switch A
Mix 1 is to allow me to turn the stabilizer on/off via a switch. Switch G.
This is the only way my steering servo will not steer when the gear is up. Note: even though my Rud to Aux2 is assigned to Switch A (Gear) The Rknob turns off the steering.
One benefit to this is now my Rknob will trim the nose steering without affecting the Rudder trim.
