    I'll be ordering one of these A-10's, looks like a great flyer! I found this post and found it very interesting. I am very familiar with the A-10, so if anyone has any questions, feel free to contact me. I'm on the right...This was Nellis and the first A-10 to be outfitted with smart weapons.

      It will be nice to have another one flying at the field.

          Awesome! The Freewing A-10 is arguably one of the best foam EDF's out there. You can't go wrong. I've got two. :)

            As TJ said...........welcome to the Squawk Chris.
            Just a heads up about Chris, this A-10 will be a piece of cake for him since he already gives airshow demo's with a (if I remember what he said correctly) 1/5 scale turbine BVM Thunderbirds F-16. :Cool:
            There are pics of this gorgeous bird on this Festival of Giants 2017 link. ;)

                Hey Chris, another member has a question about beacon lights on the aircraft. Isn't there one on the spine of the fuse aft of the canopy? Any pictures you know of?

                  A few more fuselage details. Port side vents/louvers. On the full scale it looks like they have a wire mesh over them, but I might just leave them like they are.

                      Yea, your mods were inspiration for me making these. I've got other armaments planned as well, so I might have parts that aren't overlap for you down the road

                          @RCjetdude,

                          I have to ask what is that green surface on your work bench? It appears to be some form of non scratch neoprene, can you provide a link to where you picked it up? I am getting my A-10 from my wife for Christmas (first foam plane), and a good work space seems like a good way to start off.

                          Thanks

                            Inexpensive bulk carpet from Lowe's. Any home improvement store should carry something like it.

                              Yes there is an Anti Collision Light aft of the canopy, just behind the TACAN blade antenna..

                                  The 2 side scoops were removed for the "C" models. I did a white paper to show the turbulence from the Gun Exhaust disrupts the Laminar flow to the AOA which is downstream, and plays havoc with the CICU's targeting solution. We removed both gun scoops on A-10's getting the PE mod. The Wire mesh screen was left so large FOD could not enter the fuse.

                                    Thanks for the Info Chris. Though the reason I have the scoops, similar to Steve is that I am recreating it as an A-10A from the gulf war in Euro green. On the topic of accurate detailing, do you have recommendations for books or sites for reference materials on the structures and markings for A-10s? Also, any idea if there is an available structural repair manual available to the public to get accurate cross sectional data on the fuselage?

                                      Off hand I don't know of any particular books to recommend. Not sure if the TM's (Technical Manuals) are out in public, but you can check Ebay....you never know.
