Pictures are very helpful, thanks. How does the plane balance? I was thinking with the Saito engine that the batteries would have to be more aft, maybe behind the stab servos.

VERY nice video. Delighted to see a gas powered Blackhorse Gilmore.Originally posted by CitabriaDriver View PostFlys pretty well. This is the maiden flight of mine near Stonehenge in the UK. Power is a Saito FG-61TS petrol/gas.
She does indeed look well mannered and that FG-61TS look the part.

Made a hatch in the side of the cowl, held down with a rotating pin, for adjusting the carb.1 Photo

Installation photo. Saito carb comes back through the firewall, which makes priming super easy.2 Photos

Has anyone done a gas gilmore? I am wondering what their fuel tank & electronic setup looks like inside the fuse. I have a few ideas on my placement of batteries receivers etc, but would love to see other peoples setups.
Mine is slowly coming together. I'm hoping to get the engine mounted today / tomorrow.

Got my servo's in today. Used the local hobby shop to find a nice metal servo arm. Here is what I am using.
Integy Metal Servo arm 25t.
https://www.horizonhobby.com/product...C22944GUN.html
Fits perfectly no rubbing issues with the cover or anything like that. From the center of the arm where it screws into the servo to the center of the first hole of the arm is 18.5mm. So it is slightly bigger than the 16mm that is recommended, but it's close enough using the radio getting travels dialed in shouldn't be an issue.

Awesome picture.
Love big one and small one. Can't wait to get mine together and running.

VERY nice flight. I could see evidence of you being more comfortable with the Gilmore. The Touch-&-Gos and landing demonstrate what appears to be good slow flight characteristics. The sound is really sweet,Originally posted by RC ML View Post
I am sold on this model. Can't believe I didn't pull the trigger when Motion had them in stock.

So there are hard stops at the end of the wing tube sleeve (3rd rib) in the wings at about 204mm (I only measured one wing) I haven't opened up the sleeve holes on the fuse yet, but I'll measure that as well. It might make sense to then mark the tube so you know it's even on both sides when inserting the wings. (if your tube is shorter)
Maybe some caution here...shorter wing tubes won't reach the 3rd rib of the wing (where the sleeve ends and where the hard stop is)...so we might be missing out on some of that strength / reinforcement.

mine is 800mmOriginally posted by 406PIlot View PostCan anyone tell me what the size of their wing tube is? The manual says it should be 890mm or 35inches. The wing tube I received in my kit is only about 760mm or 30 inches.
I contacted motion about this and they say it's no problem. But a short wing tube doesn't really inspire confidence. So if anyone can tell me the length of what they received that would be great. I'm curious does yours match the manual described length / size or is it shorter or longer etc...
Thanks.
