Looks good! I like that P38 nose wheel. I know we're still playing with the balance... be careful with the elevator throw and hopefully it will behave enough during the flight for you to do some testing. Mine flew OK at 65 but the elevator was sensitive, snap rolls at full elevator, etc. so that's why I put it back to around 60 or a little less.Originally posted by rifleman_btx View PostI did balance it at 55, I'm going to 65 now plus I did change the incidence of the tail putting 3 mm of spacers under it just over the tail gunner position. When my new props come in I'll see what happens I also got the nose wheel off the stock p38 and now at least that part looks decentMarc flies FW & FL: AL37, MiG-29, T45,F4, A4, A10, F104 70 and 90, P38, Dauntless SBD, Corsair, B17, B24, B26 & P61, Lipp.P19, ME262, Komets, Vampire, SeaVixen, FMS Tigercat, FOX Glider & Radian XL.

I have problem with the second screw that holds the tail on. I cannot get the screw to attach to the plastic tail mount. I have put the two screws in without putting the tail on and they both go the hard plastic attachment point and first screw goes through for the tail attachment but second screw does not go in at all. It falls out of the hole when I turn plane right side up. Can I put some glue on the second screw to hold it in place and hopefully it will go into place? I am thinking elmers white glue here.
Thank you,
Tony

You're missing the hole. ;) I had the same difficulty. Just keeping trying with a magnetized screwdriver with the plane right side up and upside down. You'll find it eventually.Originally posted by Tony617 View PostI have problem with the second screw that holds the tail on. I cannot get the screw to attach to the plastic tail mount. I set the throw to 1/2 inch should I drop it to 3/8 or 5/16? Seem like 1/2 is the sweet spot for most peopleOriginally posted by themudduck View Post

I have mine at 1/2 inch with exponential as well... and I try not to use it all when flying normally. You will need it for landing, for the flare.Originally posted by rifleman_btx View Post

I think mine is 35% but I don't have the radio handy. How much expo to use is really up to personal preference, as I am sure you know. Its great if a plane is very sensitive. But use too much and it can cut in suddenly. Of course its easy to adjust on the radio.Originally posted by rifleman_btx View PostAgreed my expo is at 45%

I tried again yesterday and got the screw into the tail first try. I got the wings on and put the propellers and fired up the motors. Sounds very sweet and is my first twin motor bomber. It sounds real sweet with two propellers spinning up. The only issue is the list numbers on the receiver wires instead of control surfaces. I am using a 7 channel Lemon receiver and so I just assumed "01" was the throttle but when powered up the receiver I found the "03" was the throttle. It made a funny beep from the motors so I looked at the channels on the Detrum receiver in the install guide so I switched the wires and everything works now.Originally posted by xviper View PostYou're missing the hole. ;) I had the same difficulty. Hey Tony, yeah the numbered wires were a bit of a pain to figure out. I hooked mine up to a servo tester and then relabeled most of them (there are a few that were self-evident like the retract and nose steering/rudder.)Originally posted by Tony617 View Post

So you're telling me that the instructions showed what those numbers meant? Wait... Ah - HAH! :Dizzy: (I just glanced at the instructions, but I did watch Pilot Ryan's build video!!) :Silly:

I had some excitement yesterday, the elevator servo died in flight...I was able to ease it down with throttle. While I was replacing the servo I decided to follow MD's lead and work on the incidence of the stab by adding a 1/8" wedge...this made a major difference in how the plane handles, I highly recommend it.

I think Rifleman was the first to use the spacer. I just lowered the LE. (Either way, its the same result) Were you able to take out the "up" trim, as a result?Originally posted by TiredIronGRB View PostI had some excitement yesterday, the elevator servo died in flight...I was able to ease it down with throttle. Don't it just make ya wonder what the pilot skills are of these factory test pilots who say to the designers "oh it flies great" when in fact there is a rudimentary incidence issue that has to be resolved by the higher skilled end users.Originally posted by TiredIronGRB View PostI still have a little up trim but not much. RM I was able to land it without issue with the throttle....the elevator was pretty much centered.
I remember when the early version of the Dynam ME-262 had a horizontal stab incidence issue.Warbird Charlie

Here are a few updated shots of the B-26. I used some foam to make the seats. I bought the FMS pilots (013) from Motion .https://www.motionrc.com/products/fm...lot-figure-013 I cut one of the pilots for the nose gunner/bombardier. I extended the nose gun since the foam block had to be cut out for the nose graphic. Then I cut out the observation bubble (foam) and replaced it with an acrylic dome from Kit Kraft. 1 1/8". Painted all inside surfaces interior green (Testors Model Master)... Decals from Callie!!! :Cool:7 Photos

And I am going to replace the elevator servo with a MG Freewing (17g) servo from the F-14 elevator. (I used HS-82MG's with 2/56 ball links and some tricks to get rid of the chatter in the full flying stab on the F-14). Don't want to land like TI. I have done that before, and it is a bit tricky!! And I will be adjusting the horizontal stab incidence as well... Thanks to all who have contributed to the knowledge base on this bird!! :Drinks:
