Trying not to over post. Some I do a update on here some times and some time at RCG. What I’m trying to do is not saturate either site with post after post. So I’ll post some up today stuff here, then next new update will go to RCG, then next over here.
Anyway, I started my wire management and rx placement.
since the belly pan is not used for the ESC’s anymore, I can use that space for wire chase firebooty system. The on / off switch for the firebooty is in between the Phoenix rails.
I’m waiting for some connectors to show up. I’m going to make tow wire harnesses for the wing servos and lights. This will make changing them out easier and help me keep them out of the way. It will be two 6 wire connectors per wing. +,-, Ail sig, flip sig, and the led+-.
I still need to mount and run the front retract and led.
getting close, that’s for sure.
adding video I posted over at RCG couple days ago showing control surfaces (with spoilers) working.

Hey y’all!
I’m in the process of getting my F-14 together. I’ve added most of the popular mods, FMS 3665 2000kv 80mm fans with their 120 predator esc’s, Castle BEC 2.0 WP, hit ed D89MH servos for the tail, JP hobbies brakes, AG63 Pro brake/steering gyro controller, etc. I’m using JR DMSS with XBUS so I can get the radio setup right.
But where I’m hanging up is on power distribution.
It seems silly to run the BEC to the receivers (dual 613bx’s) and carry all that current via the RX’s when the board likely should be carrying the current. So is it safe to power the distribution board directly from the BEC to power the receiver in reverse, or does the board’s circuitry require power to come in via the 6 ports dedicated for communication the the receiver? Can I power the board in empty outputs where I’m running servos directly via the receiver or should I only use the ports for the receiver?

I finally took mine up with goggles on today. It feels like DCS in the tomcat module. I can see many a fun time with this, and my back seater had a ball as well.

The long landing rollout is part of the "breaking" system LOL. The spoilers probably won't help much to slow the plane down on landing but that's a cool detail. I want to try adding BRAKES to mine. I think that should help avoid the dreaded grass lip at the end of the runway. I've had the same problem...Originally posted by xviper View PostDo you know if the spoilers will help decrease the landing roll of this model? My biggest problem with this plane is it rolls for a long distance before it slows down enough to turn. Many times, it just rolls off the end of the runway and slams into the grassy lip at the end, damaging the nose gear if the speed is too high.

GtC, What Evan D said and I'll add 'stunning/menacing. Best, LBOriginally posted by Gravythe clown View PostGot it decaled and clear coated. I use a combination satin and matte. I’m happy with it and will start now on the reassembling. I still need to finish the spoiler wings. That will be my project this weekend.

I too put FMS 3665 2000 units in mine along with the MiG 29 ESCs. Plenty of performance.

Gravy, wow! Sounds like you've got it all figured out with your Horus X10. I did quite a bit of mixing with mine as well; however, instead of going up with the spoilers, I went down with the full span flaps. Look closely at the trailing edge of my wings from flap to aileron and you'll see the full span flap engaged. My buddy was flying a small drone and was struggling to keep up, so I kept it partially dirty to go slow enough for him to capture these shots. Ever since I made this upgrade my landings have been extremely controllable and the rollout is much shorter. I consistently stop before nearing the end of the runway. Check it out: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VYttBK_D2Ac
Xviper, you are spot on with respect to the EDF upgrades. I installed the FMS 3665-2000kv motors and I can go vertical after takeoff. Night and day difference. The FMS motors are a tad bit wider in diameter, so I had to get out my dremel tool sander and shave away some foam to get the perfect fit. It was soooo worth it.
