packs are nano techs brand new for this model 45-90c, they get a little warm but nothing more, I have a esc from my stinger would it be worth swapping it for the one in the mig? I have a watt meter on order so this should help find the problem hopefully, the brake is not on. I have reset the esc with the throttle stick when the first two bleeps are heard but this has not changed anything.

timing set to high will just draw more amps. You will not get any extra performance that you will notice. Low timing is best for outrunner or inrunner. I use the inrunner set up on mine and it works great on low timing. My buddies use low timing on their outrunners with great results tooOriginally posted by jay bennett View Posttiming set to high but no change, will the freewing inrunner give me more power? if so how much it seems very close to the out runner specs.Check me out on youtube at https://www.youtube.com/user/gooniac33

That is a good point... didn't think of that..... yes that could do it as wellOriginally posted by crxmanpat View PostJay,
Did you calibrate your ESC initially? Radio on, throttle to max, plug in battery, wait for the two beeps, throttle off. This should set the throttle end points between the ESC and your radio. Maybe you're not seeing full throttle?

Pat made a very good point that I forgot to mention. (just assumed that everyone knew it) Setting end point calibration is very important.Originally posted by jay bennett View Postwill change to low timing and see if that helps, I have set the power with the three beeps do I need to have trim centred or all up or down?
I typically do mine with throttle trim in the middle. Power on the TX, move throttle to full. Plug in the flight battery and when it beeps twice pull the throttle back to the bottom. Operation completed. My YouTube Videos https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCrz...4Q-xrOOtP2C-8w

well I have tested it on a new watt meter and it is pulling just over 100 amps on fresh packs and holds 94 amps, but it is not as fast as my stinger 90 and will not pull a loop without a run up so I guess I will have to get used to it or upgrade the power system when I get board of it, a bit disappointed as 80mm upgrades are hard to find. but you live and learn. waiting for the a10 now, many thanks for all the help

Something is wrong somewhere. My Mig will out climb my old Stinger 90 from a low throttle level flight punch to full and pull elevator every time. They do offer a higher KV inrunner version but it's currently out of stock. https://www.motionrc.com/collections...20kv-in-runnerOriginally posted by jay bennett View Postwell I have tested it on a new watt meter and it is pulling just over 100 amps on fresh packs and holds 94 amps, but it is not as fast as my stinger 90 and will not pull a loop without a run up so I guess I will have to get used to it or upgrade the power system when I get board of it, a bit disappointed as 80mm upgrades are hard to find. but you live and learn. waiting for the a10 now, many thanks for all the helpMy YouTube Videos https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCrz...4Q-xrOOtP2C-8w

Something just sounds off about this whole thing. This is an EDF that does not fly like a prop plane... but still this bird is very clean and quick! If you take off and constantly keep the nose up the plane will never pick up speed. You must let it get some speed built up. I was able to get a good deal on the 1820kv inrunner set up and use that now but it is only slightly better than the stock outrunner set up. My friends fly theirs on the stock outrunner set up and the plane is still a missile. I have a slightly higher top speed but the climb is about the same. Can you take a video of the plane flying?Originally posted by jay bennett View Postwell I have tested it on a new watt meter and it is pulling just over 100 amps on fresh packs and holds 94 amps, but it is not as fast as my stinger 90 and will not pull a loop without a run up so I guess I will have to get used to it or upgrade the power system when I get board of it, a bit disappointed as 80mm upgrades are hard to find. but you live and learn. waiting for the a10 now, many thanks for all the helpCheck me out on youtube at https://www.youtube.com/user/gooniac33

i will try and get a video, there is one on you tube already but the plane is hard to see as it was shot with a small camera, did you fuel tanks make any difference to the top speed or take off distance? I have flown turbines for a number of year so edf is not that new or different to me but I will get it solved, I was going to check the fan unit and motor this weekend in case there is something wrong I cannot see

If you are flying with the tanks that may make up a lot of what you are experiencing. They add considerable drag.My YouTube Videos https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCrz...4Q-xrOOtP2C-8w

ok that makes sense. the tanks will make it a lil slower. I fly without them. Also make sure that there is nothing getting in the way of the exhaust. If there is you will use all those amps up but not get the thrust you need...Originally posted by jay bennett View Posti will try and get a video, there is one on you tube already but the plane is hard to see as it was shot with a small camera, did you fuel tanks make any difference to the top speed or take off distance? There is an FMS 3270-KV2000 inrunner that is lighter than the Freewing 1800KV. But it has a plastic shell with 2 raised ribs around it,just grind them down with a Dremel or something handy. It is shorter also which makes it easier to fit.The mount on the FMS is just fore or aft a tad..no problem to mount at all.
