The 80mm nacelles exhaust cones may actually work for a 90mm 5/6-blade fan just fine. They are a stretch for the Jetfan 90 9-blade fan though (I'd say the average tailcone size people use for that fan is 75mm depending on how much power they have), although not crazy far off, but you would have to test how much thrust is affected negatively and how much the current goes up at that small of a tailcone. It's definitely worth some testing.
My brain is actually thinking in a little different direction. Something I will need to check into tonight but basically retain the 90mm size outlet so to speak with a floating smaller exhaust tube. There would be very little impact to trust as a result.

Nothing but rain here all week. Hoping it will clear up some Saturday morning before the remnants of the hurricane move in Saturday night. Thanks for the compliment, you too Aros. I am having some fun for sure!!

I ordered mine about a week before the 2nd batch sold out, so I'm near the end. I just got my shipping notice so I figure almost everyone in the 2nd pre-order has their notice or certainly will by end of today.

My Desert Storm Barksdale A-10. Rivet detail was a pain, but well worth it. The ordinance is still in the paint shop, then decaling. I still have to do the weathering on the bird as well. She is coming right along though!!

                          Maiden Flight Completed

I have no words to describe how well this A-10 is designed, produced, or the pure joy of flying this beautiful bird. Maiden flight was a success. All stock set up with Admiral 6S 5000 batts with the addition of the Mr RC Sound system.

Based on previous reports from other pilots I reduced my elevator and aileron throw rates to hopefully have a smooth flight and response. Checked CG once more and then debated about the cross wind that always makes me nervous.

Smooth scale takeoff and had to make a few trim clicks to the elevator to keep her from rising. She flies on rails and is so impressive in the sky. Flew conservatively and scale for the first flight and then started final approach a little early just in a case a go around or two was needed.

Applied full flaps and she started to float. (Need to program Flap / Elevator mix) AOA was a little steep and hot but pulled up in time to make a bounce less first landing. Down Safely! Although long and off the end of the runway. I'm still smiling! :)Video of the maiden below,.

2nd flight was more fun then the maiden except my landing was not very pretty. Landed on the right main first which then pushed the left wing down and she bounced back up into the air. You know the rest. Nose gear is now a little sloppy. I removed it to inspect, found minimal damage and prepared for the third flight which was the best of all. Love this plane. Video of flights 2 & 3 to follow once uploaded. These last two flights were with Wild Scorpion 5500 batts. My timer is set at 3:00 minutes and after all three flights all cells showed 3.8 volts remaining or more. I'll extend my timer to 3:30 and check from there.

It is quite the bird, CB's is a knock out, and RCJetDude Steve's is amazing. To watch this bird fly and just to see it live was amazing. We all got to see the new 1600 mm Spitty as well and the arctic camo 70 mm F-16 and the Avanti, but the A-10 was the highlight. Four of them no less!!

Thanks Brother. 2nd landing not so pretty. Great job to you and the MRC/Freewing team. You knocked this one out of the park!

                                  Flight #2

On the second flight I'm still coming in high and hot but learned my lesson with a rough landing.

Forgot to give credit and thanks to my good buddy Sky Wolf / Flying Ant for his great video of these flights. I can't wait to see his maiden of this bird.

Great paint job klover. Awesome mate well done.

                                          Grats tom, nice flights.

Mines done, and ready for her new paint.

Gotta say, I'm super impressed with the bird. Nice easy build (so easy even I could do it...), quality of the kit is awesome. Foam finish is excellent. My only whinge is access to the control board to plug in the wires was a pain, (even taking out the screws and pulling the board up), and is discrimination against people with big hands.
                                          ;)

                                          great job motion/freewing. Beautiful plane.
