Finally got to maiden my lumbering beast the FMS 1700mm P-51 with the upgraded EFlight Power 60 470 Kv motor. OMG, it was unbelievable!
Got over 7:00 on an SMC HiV V3 5100ma pack. Takes off at half throttle and cruises nicely at half throttle as it used to at FULL throttle. Went vertical at wasn't slowing down at 600 feet so I turned back down as my high altitude altimeter warning was having a conniption fit.
I'm sure the motor from the new Flightline 1600mm would also be a decent upgrade, but I can say for certainty that the Power 60 is "The Bomb".
Have now idea how fast it was but it sure turned the absolute least favorite plane to fly in my hangar into a real keeper. A Hangar 9 gas powered P-51 could not keep up with me. I know it was extremely fast as from 3/4 throttle to full throttle level flying my seemingly modest aileron rate gain setting of 38% on the gyro was too much and had to dial it down to 22%, unhear of in my stable of WWII tail draggers.
Am I Happy with the upgrade? Like a pig in
Still intend on getting the Flightline 1600mm P-51 as it looks to be an awesome aircraft.
