    • Rivets arrived. I have my work cut out for me! Thankfully Chad sent me a note telling me which rivets go where. Thanks Chad!

          • Wow. Looking forward to the update - in about 6 months time... lol, that'd take me forever.

            • This is a riveting conversation for sureLOL. I'll have the same tedious project on the P-38 but I will have to do them one at a time. Each one will be a step closer to scale nirvana. How many glasses of wine does that equal?:Scared:

                  • Starting to sand the cowl...Looks like I will have the time to sand the cowl and fuselage so here we go. The un-glamorous work which is mandatory to get her where she needs to go. Once it is fully sanded and primed, and then sanded again I will add the rivets. From there I will spray the blue. Normally I paint my planes all together but the way this build is going I will have to paint them as two primary pieces (fuse and wing) separately. Sorry for such a slow build process but it's out of my hands. A maiden this year seems out so I hope for next Spring for sure. Save us a spot in your garage to crash Brad!

                    ;)

I am seriously considering maidening her before adding all the scale details/weathering/cockpit...So IF something were to go wrong I could justify that at least it was bare bones before I invested the time and effort into the detail and weathering...

                                    Just thinking out loud.

                                      • Yeah I've made the mistake of spending weeks worth of work on re-paints, detailing, etc only to have something catastrophic occur on the maiden...It's almost like the Flight Gods are saying "Really?"

                                        LOL

                                        • Aros, you just have to find a decent place to fly from. All the schools and side streets that I started on aren't even on my radar. There's nothing like a great big open field. Check out the AMA club listings and shop around, there has to be something.
