Actually downwindleg (Brad) has a beautiful grass field behind his house that I was going to maiden from...Plenty of room there for sure...After that, I will definitely be on the search. :)

Just thinking out loud.

Chris said he hopes to finally get back to the build and get the gear doors all working and then the wing should be done. Then it's on to the fuselage. Hope to get that to him here in the next two weeks. My YouTube RC videos:

You and me both! LOL
My buddy has been swamped with his daughter's volleyball tournaments and other commitments that have killed his weekends this year so the build has gone a lot slower than both of us anticipated. He did tell me that now with school out and volleyball over for the season, he can get back to the build. He's on vacation currently with his family so once he gets back from that I do fully anticipate progress to begin again. There's not much left to do on the wing. He said he just needs to get the gear doors working and then we can move on to the fuselage.
We need to re-rout the pull-pull wires to make room for the full depth cockpit so that will take some time but outside of that, it shouldn't take too long to get everything wired and ready. Hopefully she is air-worthy by the end of the year. So as I teased Brad, when we said a Spring Maiden, maybe all along we meant a Spring 2019 Maiden!

Heck man half the fun is watching these things take shape! Better to get it right in time, than rushed for a crash. I'm looking forward to seeing this project rise off the ground, and get back to the runway safely rubber side down! But I'm also looking forward to the progress pics as they come:Cool:

Not much of an update but more of a "in case you're wondering"...
Unfortunately no new update on the build. Chris has been busy this entire Summer. The good news is we have plans to get together either this Sunday or Monday to finish the wing (crossing fingers) so we can move on to the fuselage. The only real production for the fuse will be re-routing the pull pull housing to make room for the full depth cockpit. The rest is fairly straight forward with mounting the motor/ESC, etc.
I will have to take my industrial blower to the fuse to knock the inch of dust off of it before bringing it over to Chris'. LOLMy YouTube RC videos:

Spent some time over at Chris'...The wing looks great..Flaps, ailerons are in perfect working order. The hold up is that Chris thinks we need 2x 2S 3000 mAh's to run the flaps and ailerons. Static it is pulling over 2 amps. The sequencer/control board is a bit old and there is no real decent documentation for it but we will make it work. We agreed that the gear will need it's own battery as well. So in total there will be 5 LiPos in this big bird, each having specific rolls to play. We won't know the AUW until the end of course but we both guess 25 pounds is probably in the ballpark.
He has some fine tuning yet to do with the gear doors and then it's time for the fuselage. Progress.
