I've been getting out to a park with an asphalt runway lately and am really enjoying taking off and landing (my usual Achilles heel) the EDF's on asphalt vs grass.
May not go back to my regular grass park until the winter slows the grass growth down, even though I've upgraded all the EDF fans and put the largest nose wheels on I could.

hay tony, we are going tomorrow if u can join us. 10am
went yesterday, fall is here, frost on the grass. it warmed up fast to 60F i flew the dolphin. trimmed for five clicks from full tilt. flight ended after flight two because the motor sounded bad in the air and only got worse on the ground then locked up. once i got it home and took the Aeolian 4250-600 apart the bell had unscrewed. i loc-tited it back together. if i did not bend the bell while tightening or tighten it to much to hit the magnets its fixed. find out tomorrow.

Got out a couple of times this last week to enjoy our "cooler" weather (now only 84 degrees
). I'm now flying exclusively on the SMC HiV packs, gotta love 'em.
The 6S 5900's (most of the aircraft) or the 4400's for the Extreme Flight birds and the twin battery SU-30. And the 8S 4400's/5900's for the Euro and the additional just order 8S F4 (like I need another F4
). Sold or discarded all the other packs which numbered over 100 and 30 different makes/sizes. Trying to simplify things, to match my brain.

I have been using Futaba for 40 yrs this year actually and there were some radios along the way they made I didn't care for but this one I really like so much I gave up my good old trusty Futaba 7C which I have been using for the past 15 years or so, even though I still use it for my big scale helis, I need to change them over to this new 16IZ, have yet to set up a heli on this radio, looks easy to do and has a lot of features for helis, the 16IZ is light, very thin and comfortable even with my big hands, it just works for me, I see they released the Super version 16IZ, not sure of all the new features on it but will look into it.

My flying buddy
We're exploring ways to correct it, but in the meantime I'm flying EDF's at Markham. Forgot how nice it was to make a smooth easy take-off on asphalt, and save a little battery juice along the way. At AMP's, the hardest part of flying has been the take-off (which sounds completely insane), so I'm planning on flying on asphalt a lot more, and it also helps fine tuning my landing techniques, as grass is just too forgiving.
