Jan, there's no weight in the flip side. Go back and look how I did it. No extra servos, it's full time tapped off the horizontal stab servos. It added less than 10g. I also have a JF 8S setup in mine which is a nice light weight set up using a 880g battery.
The SU (and older TV F-18 and Euro Fighter) fly different and heavier than the F-22. The only thing the Raptor can't do is the awesome flat spins because there is no yaw TV'ing.
Aros, until you try it you don't know what you're missing. :)

Personally I would very much prefer a couple extra servos for several reasons:
1. Separate trim
2. Ability to turn it off (not really relevant, but still a small bonus)
3. Separate rates (and gyro gains) for nozzles vs elevator
Heavier for sure, but more flexible. And I really need to shift weight farther aft still, so wouldn't be all bad. By battery is already as far back as I can get it lol

My plan for a winter project is a F22 8S with 3D-printed full TV. Only planning at this stage, but it should be great with the slow flight characteristics of the F22.Comment

I would like to thank all of you for your various post and mods. It has made it possible to safely maiden and fly as well as complete various mods. Although, she has gained a little weight, I feel she is more stable. I love the high alpha, flips leading to the almost level flat drops(change in cg may improve that) and virtually effortless landings due to the TV. Don't get me wrong, I enjoy the normal flight envelope also. The members love to she her in the air.This is by far my favorite jet. I have had and still own quite a few jets as well as other planes. Please continue to post the great info that helps make this hobby great. Here is a short clip of my F-22:

I hope this is for illustration and not something you fly. A good amount of crow would be about 10% of what's shown here.
Crow mix does two things:
1. Add washout, which on the vast majority of platforms immensely improves stall characteristics. Too much ruins this benefit though.
2. Increases the effectiveness of the flaps immensely. Only a tiny amount is needed for this too. In short, it translates some of the additional lift flaps would normally add into pure drag instead.

Sorry to disappoint you but I have deployed them in flight and they work very well... very stable with the right amount of elevator compensation. But mostly I use them after landing...
I have crow on a lot of aircraft including my F-22. This is not my first attempt.
