            • I took out the old "gray ghost" A-10 out for a couple of flights this morning. Here's the hat cam video of it's 2nd flight this morning.. Not much in the line of a headwind to help slow down

Thanks Sky Wolf. Put two more flights on mine today but forgot to start the camera on the 1st flight. Kind of a noisy video since the neighboring drag strip was in full swing today.

                  • Has anyone had a problem with the elevator servo or any other one fully deflecting during flight? I had my right elevator servo go full up during my flight and it still does. I got lucky and go her down in one piece but upon looking I was amazed that the elevator was full up.

                    • A few details to add yet but this project is finally about finished. It's been a long haul but this A-10 is such a nice model in both it's looks and (more importantly) flying characteristics I didn't mind investing the time.
I'll post a video of the canopy in operation soon- the front windscreen isn't yet glued in place so the seam or gap when closed isn't finalized yet.

                                Thats awesome, great work there.
I think it would be great if the manufacturer or motion could commission stuff like this from guys like you who are pretty handy in scratch building and engineering a solution to make more scale parts. I'd love to have stuff like this on my A-10 but working away from home all week or more means I can't make it but I could buy it??
Also what ever happened to the development of the smoking cannon idea that motion wanted to get behind? I'd certainly be willing to buy more scale add ons to pimp my airframe!

I'm guessing the same thing that happened to the upgraded struts that were supposed to have been here mid September and again mid November.

                                  • Thanks for the kind words, guys! After all the solitary hours in the shop it's great to get such positive feedback.
Steve, you of course led the way back when with your opening canopy and I sure studied all the detailed photos you provided when doing mine- huge thanks!!
Brad, if you decide to tackle this mod I can maybe help with some measurements, though a millimeter here or there will make a difference so it would still be a challenge!

Thanks man! Motion has opened pre-orders for a big B-24 and say they will provide files to 3D print detailed cockpit and turret parts, so they are going down that road, which I think is great!
