I'll have some tonight. Just got the maines mounted last night. I have to run the wires to the controller.

I read a post a while back about using a gear door sequencer to control the front gear door the stay down when flying off of s paved runway. I have a FW sequencer out of a 90mm F15. How did you guys that have made the mod set it up.

I isolated the landing gear from the connector board and y-harnessed them to the control module along with the nose gear door servo. Just make sure you have enough delay closing the door that it doesn't try to close on the gear as it is retracting as it might bind up in the air like mine initially did. I used the sequencer from the Freewing 1450mm P-51 and ended up changing it to the GT power module sold by MRC. The delay for the gear door is much longer and it works great now. You will still need to y-harness the module and the landing gear to the control board if you want the nose gear light to work unless the F-15 sequencing module can handle the light as well.

          Are these what you got?

Yes that is the exact set. They are heave as you can see but I think the ability to slow the plane down on a paved runway and the look make it worth it. I cut the wire at the wing soldered a connector on the end. I add some servo wire to the other end that connects to the control module with a connector at the fus where the multi connector is so I can just in plug the wing.

Did some looking and the big A-10 has a 24" tire, so 2.4" or 60mm is scale, and 65mm close enough. You guys with paved runways are so lucky- the jet does look better with a proper size nose wheel.

We fly off both paved and grass. I put a JP Hobbies 65mm nose wheel and JP Hobbies 75mm maines with breaks on my sons A10 because we fly off both. RCJetdude I worked on getting some last minute stuff done last night till 11:30. Didn't get any pictures of the new wheels. We are going to Warbirds of Tullahoma tomorrow and I'll have pictures to post. They are nothing like the modes you have done but it'll have to do for this one. I have s lot of detail and weathering to do still.

Hi Mark . Alpha and Aros.
Is it possible to acquire the prototype front nose gear for those that want them and make them available for purchase ? We assume that we may have to tweak a few things to make it work.

It is an ongoing process my friend... I just added the leading edge wing joiners and changed my nose wheel to the 60mm main wheel from the 90mm F-16. I was also monkeying around with the Shockwave2 sound card and somehow corrupted a file causing it to not work but got it back in order last night. I have also been building some transport racks so I can haul them in a trailer without beating them to pieces.

Hey T.I., how in the heck did you get those springs off the main gear. I've tried twice but am afraid I might damage the underside of the plane. Feel free to go into more detail than usual:Cool:Brad P.S. possibly some sort of spring pliers? If anybody else knows how to safely remove those strut springs for shortening, I'm all ears.

O.K. I have been able to remove the springs, lacking any input,. by pulling one of the hinge pins out at the upper joint. Cut one link off with the dremel cutoff wheel and am now trying to figure out how or what tools to bend the hook/ loop back into the spring and reconnect. Still looking for input, Brad

The F-14 main wheel works too but I ordered the F-16 main wheel like yours and I like that's it's already white so I didn't have to paint anything, drilled some holes in it to make it look more scale. Several flights now and no issues, looks more scale and I do fly off asphalt.
