  • RCjetdude, thanks for documenting your modifications and making this thread, your plane is extremely well done!

I just started assembling mine last night and am planning on doing the euro green scheme as well. do you have the paint codes for the colors you got from lowes, or can they make the paint based on FS numbers?

I'm also planning on CADing up various detail items for 3D printing, so I'll post those on this thread so others can print them for their hogs too.

    • Thank you DD. The paint I actually used came from Ace Hardware but when I get home I will see if I can find the color swatches they matched it to.

        • I based my paints off of the Model Masters FS36081, FS34102 and FS34079 but to me there wasn't enough difference between the two greens. ACE tried to color match the samples I gave them but in the end I selected some color swatches that were to my liking and I cannot find those color swatches now. Sorry. I looked at so many pictures of real Euro Green A-10's and they all varied because of lighting so I just picked something close to what I was after.

I spent some time this evening working on a drop tank.

Thanks for the offer Mike, but I'm looking to stick with latex paint for this repaint. BTW, your Euro hog turned out great too!

Go to home depot with the FS numbers you want.....they can mix them from their database

                    • Got more done on the centerline drop tank. Mounting brackets are installed and made the hard point for it. Applied first coat if primer and some filler.

                      • Where did you get the centreline tank from? It will look great when it's flying by.

                        • Now you just need to throw several thousand milliamps in it to extend your flights

I am making it from a couple rocket nose cones, a section of rocket body tube, part of a 90mm F-16 drop tank and 0.040" styrene sheet for the fins.

Found out a friend lost his Hog recently and he has spare parts. I'm asking for some of his ordnance to get the mounting tabs to fab the rails. In return I would
upgrade a few for him to hang on his replacement Hog. I'm looking at making JDams from the the plain Jane mk83's and some scratch built Mavs

Let us hear how they hold up. I bought a set to test out also then also placed an order to Andy for two sets of the RT 6250's. Could be a possible alternate battery if they don't start dropping cells.

There you go. I have dug those things out of the ordnance from crashed planes as well. Recycling.... I will get you details on the rails shortly.

Has this been a problem with the RT batteries? I only have one 3s2200 25c and it's been a good battery so far.

                                        • I am referring to the eBay batteries not Andy's. The Roaring Tops are leaps ahead in the quality department over the HRB. Only time and fellow postings will tell the tail on the HRB.
