  • Thanks to all for the compliments! Here's the funky landing gear, old Spitfire video shows landing gear going up in a staggered manner, I wired this incorrectly in the blue box, one plugged into the gear door and the other in the proper retract slot. Looks cool though, see what you think

        • Y'all may have seen this already, but I just stumbled across it last night on YouTube. It's a documentary of the Spitfire. I knew quite a bit about the Spitfire history and variants, but I learned quite a few new things. I found the video captivating.

          • Thanks Oxotnik , I don't know why it's only 700 tumbs up and even 28 down , for this very useful and interesting film abt Spitfire.
Note:there is a "delay" of one side of the Spitfire's undercarriages(at 53:58), just for Grossman56 scale case.

                  • At first I wasn't sure whether I liked it after the Minwax darkened the color, but the more I look at it the better it looks, old eyes??

I did do another coat of Minwax on it that really helped the scumbled part (aft of the exhaust ports in the pic) as they now have one coat of Minwax and the areas painted on the first pass now have two.
You can define the panel lines a bit with a graphite pencil as well. If the sun comes out, I'll drag her out and get some more outside pics.

You can see she's quite a bit darker, but still she looks the part.

                            • I finished my spitfire details this week. I know its not "Scale" graphics now but, I love the teeth and eyes. Callie graphics made this for me for a very good price. This just looks mean now!

                                        • Great Show!! Too bad about the big mistake they didn't correct (Douglas Bader was NOT in command of 12 Group and never was, Trafford Leigh-Mallory was. Bader was in charge of the Duxford Wing in 12 Group)
What a thrill to be able to flying in a Spitfire over England. He was right , it doesn't get any better than that.
