I was so hoping to give my report. Went to the field and flew everything I had except the B-26. There was a lot of construction work going on all around the perimeter of the field. The B-26 is too big and I didn't want to risk a bad maiden. The law says we're not supposed to fly near or over people/equipment. My other planes were very small and easily maneuverable (eg, UMX Radian). Hoping to go to another field tomorrow and get it done.Originally posted by themudduck View PostI'm looking forward to Xviper's flight report...!

So yeah I'm thinking of making an fpv system out of the old canopy hatch, just because I do love fpv so muchOriginally posted by rifleman_btx View PostViper, here's the vector https://www.readymaderc.com/store/in...oducts_id=2307

Thanks. I haven't done FPV for some time now, so I'm somewhat out of date with the latest stuff. I had a very simple OSD and even with that, I found it was too much information to keep track of. That Vector unit seems to push out way more information than I could handle. The way I see it, installing it shouldn't be a problem. There's plenty of room up there for it. What I can see as potential problems are multi-fold. It would seem that this plane is already a bit nose heavy (hence the decision to put those weights in the tail), so adding the FPV gear may add to the balancing issue. From what we've heard, this plane has a tendency to stall and drop a wing. Such a plane may not be the best choice for FPV. FPV planes are usually "floaty" planes that can fly on minimal power and can stay aloft for longer periods of time, since it's easy to get "way out there" and the need to have the ability to get back. This B-26 doesn't appear to float well and it needs good airspeed to stay away from it's stall speed. Flying it via goggles or even a big view screen may be hard to judge it's airspeed. All this may conspire to make for a bad outcome. But that's just my own paranoia talking.

That was in one simple word............amazing.Originally posted by rifleman_btx View PostIndeed it does excellent in the FL P38, as matter of fact I've only flown that plane once los. Only planes I haven't flown fpv are the hellcat, Corsair, and P39. The rest that I own it's goggles on. Here's a video of the P38.

How the hell do ya keep from getting directional disorientation cause your lateral views are quite limited.?Warbird Charlie

Mostly for me it's just knowing the area, and watching the distance and compass. Also the tick mark pointing from center tells me if I'm headed towards me or away. If I can honestly say my favorite part of it all is the take off and landing. I also fly an fpv Catalina off my pond as well as an fpv Seawind off the same pond as well as out at that field. The Catalina is probably the most relaxing to me. I was hoping this being a bomber it would be as relaxing, boy was I in for a surprise..Originally posted by OV10 View Post

Got the graphics in today from Callie.... All are installed with a modified paint scheme for Hamilton's Hey Maker II... Starting to finish the wiring on the CC BEC and then install a platform for the gyro and the receiver. Reworked the wiring in the wing. Put one long extension on each aileron and used heat shrink on all the connectors and used new Y and 3 way harnesses...
And of course, new wheels!! Also painted the cockpit interior green. May do the wheel wells too....2 Photos

Alright now I'm beyond pissed to no end someone's gonna bleed for this ****! Why in the name of all things holy would the gun kit not supply the nose gun, and the plastics kit not include the plastic canopy or nose glass! I'm actually feeling sick I'm so mad. I wanted to fly this plane this weekend. NOPE! half the parts I expected to be in these parts kits aren't there! I'm probably going to be dead over this. I've never been so pissed in my life. Uuuuughhhhh!

Can't help ya with the mechanical aspect of access to the LED cause I don't have this bird yet and probably won't for a awhile until Dynam remediates the pricing.Originally posted by Mad Baron
What would be the best way to remove the cover on the bottom of the wing to access to the LED?
For all the issues that have been staked so far, it's value is certainly not more than it's close Dynam family twin power sake the BF-110 @ $209.
With the Dynam ME-262 @ a $239 value it makes the pricing on this B-26 a true Baltimore *****.LOLWarbird Charlie

This pic shows the LE of the stab, on the right side (right edge of the picture is facing the nose).
Noticing that I need to have some "up" trim to fly level (like everyone else), I was thinking I could adjust the stab a bit. The front part of the stab was sitting up just a bit, it wasn't perfectly flush.
So I removed the stab and carefully trimmed out the saddle (about 1/16" at the front) in order to lower the leading edge of the stab about 1/16". Its important to be precise - to ensure the stab still fits properly and is level.
Result shown here - look carefully and you'll see that the top part of the stab is now sitting perfectly flush with the top of the fuselage. This should make it possible to fly with the elevators close to neutral. I'll be flying it this weekend and I'll let everyone know.
Also - I took out the weight in the tail. I don't need tail weight. I am pretty sure that's only needed if you're using a light battery like a 3000. Bigger batteries have more than enough weight to balance the model properly.
And less weight is always better. I HATE adding weight to a plane for balance. That's what the battery is for.

The cover isn't the problem. You can get that off with a sharp blade like Xacto. The bulb itself you may have to work it out by grabbing it with hemostats covered with fuel hose. Grab the LED and wiggle it left and right to get it free of the glue. Once out, you can snip the wires, leaving enough wire to work with. Solder the new light in and stuff it all back in with some glue. Glue the cover back on once you've tested the light. I did this on a dud LED on my P-38. It should work the same way on this one.Originally posted by Mad Baron
