  • Well I have ordered my P-15. Will be here Friday but wont be able to build till Monday. New to flying wings and EDF. I intend to run it with the Admiral 6ch gyro. My question is can I run it as an Elevon on the transmitter and normal fixed wing on receiver or do I do Fixed Wing on TX and delta wing on RX?

That one. Read the instructions for the RX carefully. It covers this point.

      • Makes sense to run that way. I cant wait to get it together and bench test the control surfaces. The Admiral gyro receiver was not detailed in its instructions but it follows that the gyro should be in a delta configuration. Thanks for the help

Hey Brian welcome to Hobby Squawk! Here's a video Pilot Ryan did on that receiver.

To answer your earlier question you do can do it either way, fixed wing on transmitter (receiver set to Elevon) makes mixing easier.

I can tell you with the 1300 size- she will glide forever and landings were extremely gentle..

Hehe, it's already taken by a local fellow flyer. Besides, shipping it to you from Canada would cost more than the plane's worth.

After the winter we've had, I'm almost ready to go south. But I think winter got it's last licks in a couple days ago. I've seen those realestate shows on TV and some of the places in Texas are simply magical. However, being retired and on fixed income, moving anywhere is impossible and vacationing anywhere must be carefully budgeted. Besides, didn't you folks have that bomber situation recently? And those hurricanes!
I have some car club friends from Austin and I live vicariously through them whenever we meet up at the annual club gatherings. This year, it's in LA.

                      • Just so as you know, Austin isn't apart of Texas, it's a California transplant. Just about worthless in every respect. Just about...

                        • So, the bomber thought he was bombing some place in California? Even dumber than we were previously led to believe.

                          • I squeezed in a flight of my Little Lippisch today, just before a storm moved in. The winds were really howling (15-20 knots). The P.15 handled the wind quite well. I'd mechanically set my elevons before this flight, and I was crazy out of trim. So, due to the turbulent wind and the out-of-trimness, I kept the plane pretty high and out a ways (other than a couple close passes); so, it's a very dust-dotty video. Sorry. The best part of the video is the falcon attack at 1:03. The falcon didn't miss by much.

                            • Received my P-15 on Friday and put it together this morning. Everything went together without a problem. All control surfaces worked fine with the admiral gyro. All was great but then....no throttle. Absolutely nothing from the motor. I checked to make sure I was hooked up correctly and checked the transmitter to make sure there was no throttle cut. I'm bummed out......

                                Did you calibrate the ESC?

                                • The first time, my motor did not initialize because my setup battery in the shop was too low. I used a charge battery, then it was fine.

                                  • You guys rock. I disconnected everything. Got a charged battery and recalibrated the esc. All is good now.

                                    • I had a failed hand launch (after three awesome flights) yesterday and broke a fan blade due to sucking up a pebble or something through the finger holds. I think that I'll complain to Motion that the fan was defective and that they should give me a whole new airplane. :Devil:Just kidding, of course.

A $3 part, but, of course, it's currently out of stock... :-/
The waiting will be horrible, as this is easily my favorite plane in this size class.

                                        • I got my two P-15s last week and got my first flight on a standard 3S 1500 yesterday, and was very happy with her handling. I upgraded the 2nd P-15 with a 40 amp ESC and a 12 blade 64mm motor out of an FMS F-18. I flew her today on a 4S 2200 and WOW, this thing was a complete rocketship with unlimited climb capability. She looked like an ME-163 Komet on launch. Was flying in a 10 mph wind with the 4S 2200 and I thought she handled the wind much better with the added weight of the 12 blade fan and 4S battery. Glides seemed just as long as the 3S and she could cruise all day at 1/4 throttle. Landings were just as easy as with the 3S, although the landing speed was a little higher but once this thing gets into ground effect she will just settle right in. Just love this plane and in my opinion it is the best flyer in the 64mm series.
