Personally, I prefer a little extra aileron throw to provide more "zing" in the roll performance. At first the elevator seemed to need more as well, but that was because it was nose heavy and pushing the batteries back solved that problem. I use 25% expo on all of my planes as a starting point because it helps provide smooth realistic flights. I used extra expo on the rudder channel to smooth the steering. I am using a 3-second slowdown on the flaps.
The elevator needs to be set with a little bit of "up" trim as I'm sure you've seen on this thread on earlier posts.
No doubt there are a number of Squawkers who are angry that I am not enthusiastically recommending TI's lg modification. Don't get me wrong, from what I can tell it sounds like the mods are very helpful. With some concern about the pin, I ordered an extra nose gear just in case! But just like tclaridge, I've found that I've had no issues with bouncing - I bring my Hog in nice and slow with the flaps hanging out, it floats like a butterfly and touches down mains first, with the nose a bit up, and it doesn't bounce regardless of the surface I'm on (grass, geotex, or pavement). It really is a sweetheart. The key for me was using full flaps to help it slow down - and keep the nose up just like the full-size planes do.
Merry Christmas! - Marc
