  • Lucky Kferros.

I took the TL front gear apart to shorten the spring so I get a very slight sag with flying weight as I have to deal with roo dug ruts and some nasty kerb edges when I roll out sometimes. I used a weight that equalled my flying weight on the nose to slowly approach how much was needed to shorten the spring and I faced the cut off end of spring to the top so it doesn't travel up and down. Notice the contour at the end of the joining link that stops the linkage over extending.

    • Getting close. I might be able to finish the camo by tomorrow and then move on to gear wells, GAU-8, exhaust, etc.

I was noticing the same thing. Same one as I have, I like the trigger rather than the button, just me I guess...

That's because it's the same one :). I bought it after seeing your post in the modification thread. I am a fan of the trigger, and this one has much better coverage than my dual action harbor freight brush. I find that with long use of the dual action, i develop long-term pain in my index finger from depressing the small button on the DA airbrush that takes days for it to go away.

                            • Thanks for link DD. Got one ordered. It's got to be better (with acrylics & latex) than the siphon feed Badger.

                                • before I got into airbrushing, I thought siphon feed would be more maintenance free. But with needing to teardown the jar into 3 individual parts for cleanup it became quite a chore. In my mind I thought I needed large capacity of paint in the jar/cup to paint an RC plane, but I found that you really don't need much as the paint goes a long way. plus siphon feed is much more wasteful on paint, and you need to have more paint in the jar for the tube to be immersed. Gravity you can literally drip in a tiny amount of paint and you can complete a small job.

One thing I don't like about the gravity feed, is that you cant just remove the needle to give it a clean to clear a possible clog. If you do, gravity will help the thinned paint find the way out of the back, and make a bit of a mess down the trigger. Maybe I'm just missing something here, but its really a minor issue, its a great airbrush.

                                  • Paint job milestone achieved! Still need to do a lot of small exterior painting like wheel wells, struts, GAU-8, etc. I'm also considering printing the aerial blade antennas to replace the flimsy stock ones.
