Should get those sometime in Sept, that's what I'm waiting for, this is not the nose gear they used in testing:a10

Somebody goofed and should have kept the original gear that was tested. So far, only two small bounced landings and no problems. 10 flights completed.

This new gear is going to be like the mains now?

If you refer to Alpha's post on 7/30, that will explain it. They are making a small run of regular oleo type struts for mains and nose gear, for which I am very grateful, as an option for those of us with pavement or short grass that can't hack the dreaded bounce. Brad

Knock on wood. Lol. I made it to flight 26 before I joined the "Bouncing Betty" club. Let your guard down and she will bite. I'm still troubled by the "shear pin"

              • I see RC Castle sells a metal fan upgrade. I believe it has 12 blades. Looks like it uses the same stock motor. Y'all think it would be something worth looking into for more performance?

                      • I think going from 9-blade to 12- blade fans while keeping the same motors will increase resistance (more amp draw) and tax the stock motors/ESCs to the point of overheat and possible failure and little performance gain. Of course, this depends on the fan blade pitch. It's kind of like going from a 2-bl to a 4 or 5-bl prop, changing nothing else and expecting the drivetrain to survive. You might get a performance gain but for how long before there's smoke coming out?

                        • Don't know unless ya ask. I was thinking about upgrading the esc' s to Graupner,so I'll get full telemetry to my Graupner MZ-24 radio. But at $100.+ each,it can wait for a little while. Maybe throw a Graupner gps,so I can get an idea of mph I'm at.

                            • Im looking to disassemble the jet to allow painting and like to replace the stock screws as some of the heads maybe be somewhat stripped and not able to reinstall securely on the second round. What size in standard dubro stock would be a good replacement for the PA3X8 screws. Like to even go with socket head screws instead of phillips?
So the vertical stabs, horizontal stab and maybe the nacelles which use 3x12
