    • Reverse the struts and the bounce is gone...haven't had a bounce since.

I have to agree. Three flights on mine this morning and the 1st one should have done it in since I let it get too slow and didn't have enough airspeed to properly flare. The nose wheel was the 1st thing to touch the tarmac but the dance of death did not follow..

Second flight was one of those "unicorn" landings. Speed and angle of attack were just right.

Third flight was another good landing but I almost kissed the tarmac on one of the low passes.

            • Thanks Tim and T. I like having videos from the ground but since I can't run camera and fly at the same time, on board is about the only documentation I have.
Love the way this model flies. Landing damage, not so much. Kudos to TI for coming up with this fix. I'll still be trying the oleo struts when they get here but this should save a lot of wear and tear in the meantime.

I really meant to try that after the rebuild! Regretting now obviously !
Im going to have to rebuild her but just going to leave it a while, besides it's hard getting the spares for it.

                • Well, I managed to get in six flights today. Four were absolutely perfect! This plane is a lot of fun and looks amazing in the air. Flights five and six? the dereded bunny hop!
Man I thought I had this plane figured out? Sheared the "Pin"! Sure hope that the new gear is the fix? I love how this plane flies! It's a point and shoot bird. But landing?

                    • Are you just loosening the set screws and spinning the gear 180° and re-tightening???

You also have to swap sides. The right strut plugs into the left gear and vise versa. It's a 15 minute job after you get those @#$&&% plastic covers off so you can pull the retracts.

Might be useful but not the original. https://www.rcgroups.com/forums/show...g#post37818120

Check my post in this thread about it, you need to do a little clearancing, there's pics of it.

I must have gotten lucky. Mine was a simple switch sides and turn them around. No grinding required.

                                  • I'll be doing the switcheroo per Tired Iron. First I gotta figure out how to replace the NG pin. How do you get at the backside of the retract?

You need to take the retract apart.

That awesome ... i had to grind mine down so the would sit flush when the retract was in the up position... leading links A+ ;)

                                        • Figured. Was hoping someone had a magic wand. I'd rather stick a fork in my eye than take retracts apart. Ugh. Wish the new TL NG was available.
