    • Buy them from Andy at www.rcjetwerx.com. A little more pricey than some other brands, but well worth the investment. I have yet to have an issue with a single pack, and I do not go easy on them! But the thing is, these packs are capable of constantly supplying more amps than what my setups demand, and do not get hot at all. The worst is in my A-10, but I think that has more to do with cooling issues than pushing the packs. My cooling mods have helped though.

          The RT 6250 6-cell is $98 from RCJetWerx and the Admiral 5000 from MRC is $109. I think that's a pretty good deal, $20 less for 25% more capacity.
          I pushed them hard in my A-10 yesterday, no extra cooling, and they were just warm. I was impressed.

          BTW I am not dissing the MRC packs. I am presuming that the price difference is because of the C rating, which is to be expected.... higher C batteries cost more.

          • I still have a bunch of Admirals as well and use them in several planes. Mostly warbirds though, not so much in jets anymore.

            • I'm still up for a set of oleo's for this bird. I'm still waiting for my replacement kit to arrive as the post office sent it to a different county! Muppets lol.
              I'm doing the TI strut reversal until those oleos are available.

                        • So guys, I got my replacement kit yesterday, quick unbox last night when I got in revealed that the water slide decals had all been applied with exception of the nose art and the vinyl decals of the squadron markings???
                          They are very neatly applied therefore I'm guessing they've been done at the factory?
                          Im happy in a way as I was always going to leave this one grey but am I little confused as to them being pre-applied?

                          • I'm just getting to the decals/stickers. Dumb question, but how many layers are there supposed to be to the stickers when applied? The white backing obviously comes off, but should the top layer of cellophane also come off, or does it cover the actual image? Thanks! Rob

                              Those are the vinyl stickers. The top layer comes off

                                • WANTED: ON-BOARD READOUT OF AMPS OR WATTS OR RPM OF EACH EDF
                                  Is there a small device out there that will give me a readout of amps, watts, and/or rpm of each EDF? I would like it small enough to be on-board. I want this so that just before flight, I could run-up my throttle to full for a couple of seconds to check that each EDF is going full power. Then I could put the hatch on and fly. Spectrum telemetry won't work, as their device won't handle the power on our A-10s, and it would only work for one. An ammeter such as the Electrfly "Powermatch" is obviously too big and it won't handle the power for long periods of time.
                                  So, is there any small gizmo out there that will do the trick. I'm thinking something that would tap the speed controls for a RPM reading.

                                    My Jeti radio will give me either spoken or displayed readings of amps pulled, mah used, temperature and voltage of both power systems.
                                    Spektrum has similar but no where near as comprehensive.
                                    I don't think anybody does a rpm reading for an EDF fan.

                                      Graupners radio also will by either using their own ESC or one of their modules. You can then get rpm both displayed and voice.

                                        If you mean this sensor http://www.espritmodel.com/graupner-...m-optical.aspx then Spektrum and Jeti as well as many others do an rpm optical rpm sensor. I can't see how or why you'd want to try and mount this in and EDF
                                        I think the original poster was after something more plug in without having to modify the intake or fan.

                                          I want to do it so I have a good feeling before each flight that at full throttle both fans are pulling max amps or watts or RPM (any one will do) and they are approximately equal. Then I know that all is well before I start the flight. I don't care if I have telemetry telling me throughout the flight. I just want to verify before I take off. So, I was hoping that there was a small RPM/amps/watts digital readout unit that taps into each ESC. I could just run wires from the ESCs to the readout units up front front. I run up the throttle, check that the readings are OK for each ESC/EDF, throttle down, put the hatch on and go. The benefit is that if something is wrong, then I will notice before takeoff.
