Overkill... I like the sound of that! Haha! Even a higher RPM setup like the FMS 80 would RIP inside this nice ducting!

    • Keep the jet light and on 6S and you'll love it. The heavier you go, the less Sport jet flying you'll be able to do with it. It starts to defeat the purpose a bit, unless you're just going for straight line performance, then load it up. Haha

Of course I am haha! Nah, I'm going to weigh it out... But I'll likely use the 8s setup as it's just sitting here asking for a strong and sleek airframe. :)

Exactly...My Sebart one is on 10s ...Needed plenty of grunt to rotate off my grass field ...Great for verticals & straight line speed but when one wants to throw it around a little one can feel the extra weight of the batteries...Not quite Float like a Butterfly which this one will if kept light ...

Interesting... That's true. My 8s Viper is killer going straight, but you can feel it when carving out and maneuvering. I might try both ways and see how she handles it. :)

                          • I have one of these on pre-order. I'm looking forward to receiving mine. Just watching the video of it flying and I must say it does seem to be a nice quick model. I'm really looking forward to flying it.

You and me both Martin. I have a feeling that this one will be so much fun, that it will quickly become my Grab N Go jet.

                                • I have to wait to replenish ye ol' bank account after the A-10 pre-order. As soon as I do I am hoping there's some left to snag on pre-order. This is going to be a fun jet.

                                    • Quick question for those that have flown the Avanti pre-production . I pulled the trigger on this one 1st day of pre-order and now as the shipment is closer , I'm thinking about batteries. I own quite a few 6S 3300's that have high c discharge rating that I would also like too use in the Avanti, My question is , Can you move the battery far enough forward to C/G correctly ? Thanks ....

Looks like there is a tonne of room in there....shouldn't be a problem, you can always get a couple of these. On special at the moment and free shipping if you live in the USA I have a bunch of them and they are a great lipo. Cheers

                                        • Hi Adrian-M, welcome to Hobby Squawk! There's lots of space in the Freewing 80mm Avanti and I'd imagine your 3300s can CG just fine. I would go easy for your first flights, however, to verify they're truly up to the task of feeding this fan for as long as you'd like your flights to last. C rating is not a substitute for capacity. As always I must state that officially we specify a 4000-5000mAh size. This is both for CG and Consumption reasons.

Grossman, I'm glad you like the teaser picture. Unfortunately, for competitive reasons I can't really disclose too much about our manufacturing partners' capabilities, processes, or even too many "cool pictures" of the lines. Just the other day I had to escort out someone posing as a "delivery courier" who snuck through security and was trying to photograph areas of our production line and adjacent offices. Good thing we caught him before he reached the next room. It seems...strange... to me, but I've accepted this is the environment we're in. I don't mind being followed.

I sent Pilot Ryan a production Avanti today, so stay tuned for our official Flight Review video and Assembly video!
