F4U Aussie,
The Hellcat is overlooked in the modeling community, and I don't understand that.
The model I'm building is from the Wing "Pro- Series" kit that I purchased at Toledo in the mid-nineties, 1/8 scale and calls for a 60-90 engine, 611/2" ws. I have it built to the bare balsa fuselage and foam wing. Instead of the cable operated control surfaces I have installed 17g metal gear servo's for ail. and flaps. The FL Corsair retracts fit perfect also. Will be Electric powered. A battery hatch in front of the windshield will give plenty of room for a 4s batt. from my Tigercat. Plan to model Alex Vraciu's F6F-3 #19, tri-colored.
I will post some pictures as soon as I get started on the P-47 assembly.
Enjoy reading your posts and pictures. Hope your enjoying your flying season.
Best Regards, Rex
