I agree with OV10, and I'm sorry I converted mine to the Deans.Whenever Motion gets the XT's back in stock, I will convert all my Equipment to them.

I have adapters so if I get a Deans connector and I have an XT60 connector on my LiPO I just use conversion cables. I do like the XT60 better but I have LiPOs with XT60, Deans, and EC3 connectors that is why use conversion cables. I did have a soldering iron and had to resolder two Deans connectors on different airplanes. I guess I just want to fly my RC airplanes instead converting them to all XT60 connectors since I do have quite a few LiPOs to convert from Deans and EC3.

If you don't fly in the late evening you have time then to take care of the Deans. EC3 are good connectors too, however just check the solder joints in any factory eflite packs. I've seen a few of those pop a wire free from the pins, and one demolished a beautiful T28 in mid flight.

:(..not cool. I've dealt with just the EC3's and the XT60's... both on Admiral packs. One of my 3s 2200mAh with the EC3 tends to give me a connection issue when beginning a charge. Feels snug, and just take that little extra push. Think I'll go check the wiring on that one... :Straight-Face:

Oh man, yeah definitely check them out. Also check the pins inside make sure they aren't out of spec ID on the battery, and pin diameter on the charger. Sometimes the Male pin doesn't make contact with the female inside the connectors. Causing a failure point as well. I've seen that in all connectors. Including deans.

FWIW, the only time I have had problems with "Deans" connectors is when they were knockoffs--the real Deans have always been rock solid for me, although the most I have ever run through them is about 100 amps...Pete M

Despite the heat and humidity I got six flights on the FLRC Tigercat. This is a sweet flying plane!

Had mine up yesterday, post surgery.
I had to replace a nacelle as the motor mount was loose and glue didn't help. Actually, I patched it up with glue for Nefi and she lasted, but was loose again when I got back home, so off with the old and on with the new. Including painting the new one, it was maybe a four or five hour project. Got the silver grey on and the 6 coats of pearl, using a hair dryer. First coat of clear and let her sit, four coats later with time to dry in between and she looked as good as new. It was actually a great way to install the upgraded motor mounts, because I could hold the nacelle vertically and tap in the screw holes (actually, Diane held it while I drilled, team work!!)
So yesterday she was back up in the air and flew beautifully. Motor upgrades were worth it and she still has the stock props on. A great optional way to go if you want to maintain the scale look.

Nonsense, I have used Deans since electrics came about and still use to this day. The Key is having a great solder joint. Never an issue or them getting hot. I have seen many types of connectors fail due to bad solder job

The spring gets weak or just goes away , that's my biggest issue with them. Your mileage may vary, me I don't use them anymore.

Good to hear MB, you'll love the bird!
One of the easiest airplanes to fly. I thought the Bearcat was easy, but the Tigercat is even easier.
Can't wait to see what you do to yours mod wise that is!!
