Threw this up on the test stand just to see what she would deliver at 34 milliohms. So a DD would be 320 Kv . The Eta jumped 2% with a doubling of voltage. I can load it with a 22 x 20 CRP at 8s and 5342 idle speed and see what it pulls. I have the castle amperage limit set at 275 for now.

        Here are the constants:

        Cobra 5340 20T delta (160Kv)
Kv 161 on the castle inverter @ 10 degrees timing.
        Rm 34 milliohms
        Io .83 @ 33.4 volts (5,342) rpm
        Eta Max 92%

          • Hi Dr Okon and Christian.........
Put the 4530 and all the other proposals into Holle's calculator from here.... You know where it is. You should use it to inform the forum of your true genius.

The big girl has alot of potential. Its mechanically one of the smoothest I've heard so far but the auto pwm castle doesn't select a high pwm because I can hear it. The sound is very similar to what you hear when as a VFD crackles when it starts and stops an IM . They say 16khz for used ears but a human with good ears should be able to pick up to 20khz. I estimate it must be between 8khz and 16Khz. because i can hear it. Its isn't a nasty sound at all but I can hear the switching. The motor Itself runs like a fine clock and is very easy to control. You can start it at a crawl. All motors do not come with that characteristic.. Its very responsive to the throttle.
              .
Ill have to print a reducer to fit the rear prop because the from prop bore is 8 mm and I wont drill and ream it out. Its a shame for me to be irritated about it because the ability for 3dp to deliver it now was supposed to be a bonus. We get spoiled and take for granted quickly the technology after 1 day, but I just wanted to mount the prop and get on with it.

                BTW
I've made a connection with Vladimir Kuptsov an Electromagnetic Simulation Software Developer from Motor XP who might simulate the. Specific hybrid I'm winding. That will be pretty cool if that happens. Maybe I could get some 3D efficiency maps derived. We will see.😎 . Im sure he will need LD and QD so what i need is a new LCR meter and a fixture that lets me rotate the motor very slowly and at specific angles with a servo or stepper motor so I can report that data into the modeling software. If you want optimal FOC you will also need this data and an inverter with FW sophisticated enough to allow that adjustment from the end user. Talega like on the embedded KOMAR on the scorpion in the attachment will allow you that and teach itself the optimal commutation for the prop load. The prop load regression tuning has to be conducted in a wind tunnel Bruder.

You both opened your mouth and then never produced a 20 pole running for the forums. You read here just a s much as he does. What you should both do is put up a 12N20P or be quiet in 2025. If you cant finish a one day winding project.

PLEASE YOU BOTH SHOULD Leave my name out your preschool battles with no running motors or data. You are both scared of Holle's calculator Click image for larger version Name:	Jester.gif Views:	0 Size:	401 Bytes ID:	421908.

                      About the engines.....

I should have posted that this Cobra 5340 would take a 10+10 DD for 320Kv . Its well built with 3 large bearings. The 8mm shaft should be more than enough support if it is built right. The rotor bell is balanced from the factory. The body has an incredible amount of room for different winding configurations, tall heads, etc. Its 14 poles so the price is excellent compares to 1 off bodies in time an effort. I could just work with the core. You see it has incredible axial cooling. If i can turn a very high pitch around 16,000 rpm on 16s maybe it could compete it can fit a 64mm spinner. It doesn't have to be a folder because Talega can stop the prop on horizontal in you are into fast "gliders" with no landing gear.

I know my way very well around the machine shop but not just as an operator and programmer of CNC and Manual equipment. When you truly learn the trade from the formal side you about learn about shop cost and management. There is no point to subcontract this or build these things myself outside of contracting it with a company like Cobra. by just buying it. Itz a simple decision simple because the price is right and the quality and room is there for optimization . if there was a market like speed planes I only need to optimze a 100 of them to capture the market. if they are good I wont see them for a long time or ever again. Thats the money grab for a market like that and you move on. You wont make 100,000 because you have to at least buy the 100 motors and upgraded stacks and wire. Alpha iron is a great soilid core idea because i can get it cheap. I do not think I can cut it with an edm because it int conductive which is an excellent property for a motor core if that's indeed the case. It has a fully ferritic matrix and definitely has the Mu of silicon steel. The fact that it is non conductive with very low coercivity is a major plus. If I can re anneal it in hydrogen it becomes incredible. Go look at the matrix of CoFe and you may begin to understand the similarities.

I like the Cobra alot . Smooth running. Ill have to add video so the boys can hear it.

Thanks for your time and patience,

                      • Everything Dr. Okon wrote about me there is also false, but as I said, it's easy to write. He's himself, as always. A jealous bigot who will not enter his parameters in at any io. He is the only idiot that think it grabs 3% when the eta actually goes up with voltage but the poor man doesn't know much about electronics so he will post anything. Like "the formula is not valid in the first place". He is the amateur with one engineer who is deceased and hasn't done much in the field of electrical rotating machines in the first place as his guide.

                        Like:

"all the wires carry the same current in the slot"

An electrical engineering fool! really that hasn't the gravatas to enter motor parameter in an efficiency calculator for the forums versus fallacy because his efficiency isnt anything remarkable. I mean he is the one with all the burnt up motors and inverters in hand but is always talking about others. I dont care who buys it. Its a free country.

If you asked me, I will not buy the overpriced nonsense. Its simple as that and I can leave Ralph okon (power croco there) kissing my ass. I did not ask the wurst the track me here or mention my name in the first place... I can wind and build motors to run his bs out the door. A consumer can buy what he wants and base it on what he sees in review from others. Its pretty simple to me. I have a REAL job and dont need it anyway.

This thread is for the Hobbyists who have interest here which he must be ones of as he is subscribed to all my misgivings. That said we will carry on and do what we do. If i was going to be a racist nationalist like him ,which I'm not, id tell him the thread is for American only so he and his boys can GTFOOH really..

This clown will never lead me! If you calculate the Align at 10 volts stall the eta is still higher than yours. there... now what you should report is you take efficiecny readings at 0 degrees timing when you run the highest available in reality 18-30 degrees......Still stuck on one motors values and haven't exceeded its numbers yet even with that fudging

The exact plot for the 1000 watt test wind. and this recorded data set remember this was wound with 22 awg...28 milliohms

                                  • Make sure you understand that these idles are taken at 20 degrees timing for this engine. I can cheat like he does and extract better data but no one runs a motor this size at zero degrees timing. Thats definitely bs to report it to you. Most of the tim I use 10 degrees which is a medium setting for more universal truth reporting.

                                    Powercroco,
I hope you see your editorial on Hubert about idle currents is absolutely incorrect. I dont need to create false efficiencies to deal with a jealous turd like you.

You do much better with your time if you actually produced a video and similar data with the 20 pole wundermotor that no one has seen run and has no data just like the rest of your average semi retired windings....
