Guys, sorry. I said transmitter battery. I added it just for weight because it was my first flight with 4000 packs and it was real windy. Can't lose a bird that's not here yet, right? Just me being a little cautious considering the situation and aiming for nose heavy..It wasn't plugged in. We fly stock.Comment

I thought that you had said "transmitter" battery in the vid Ryan. I was just about to post that when your post popped up. If I'm not mistaken, both ESCs are supplying power to the system in parallel, so if that's the case, you already have a back-up source.Comment

Well, I just ordered the Freewing A 10 80mm . Its really too much for my budget, but hey, you only live once !
Am totally impressed with the service Motionrc provides and have purchased many warbirds and two stinger 90s from you guys - great stuff .
Also have a couple of spare 90s for the upgrade if I choose , but I'm sure those twin 80s are plenty powerful!Comment

If I'm not mistaken, I think that rule of thumb refers to if two switching BEC's are used, but two linear BEC may be able to used simultaneously on a twin powered plane. Hopefully someone with extensive electrical knowledge can confirm and to describe in detail as to why that may be.
In this jet, I thought the ESC's may be Opto and therefore not have an internal BEC. Instead it would have one large external BEC, but unsure. With the size of these servos, retracts, lights, etc., I would doubt an internal BEC of the rating the Hobbywing ESC's have could handle all of that safely.Comment
