Hey Alpha...What Trailing link can be used to relace the Oleo stock on the A-10?? I am pessimistic that the pins & retract mounts will be happy on uneven grass field over time so better to be safe than sorry I would like to replace it with the same trailing link that Tony proved in one of the vids where he banged the front hard & still came out unscathed ...The changing to trailing link will make the A-10 ATV..:)

Two words about this plane. Home run! Successful maiden and 5 more flights on it today. Plenty of power. The recommended control throws were too twitchy for me. I dialed it back a bit so it's more much more stable for me but it is still responsive.
These planes keep getting better and better. It's a great time to be in this hobby.
I didn't put any markings on it because I'm going to repaint it. Now I just have to force myself to take it out of flight status to start the work.1 Photo

One more 12 hr day at the old refinery. Making gas so you guys can drive to your fields and fly... I got 3 1/2 days to get mine built and maiden after that...
Wanted to start tonight, but when you put in 12 hours a day, you lose a little attention to detail, and I want everything to be right on this one...

Well after a late night build party, we ended up with both A-10's at the field. I didn't put on too many decals before the first flight. The airplane is starting to come alive as i put on the graphics. I really love Callie's work! Her package for the A-10 is a work of art and a few hours or pints of beer to put on tonight;-)
Did one flight in the crazy cross-wind. I managed to have my friend take some great shots. Good luck to everyone else over the weekend! There are lots of hog's showing up now :-)

Mine is almost rtf. Have Callie's Red Devils livery but want to add a few of the decals from the package. There a a few that are different size. Callie's seem to run a little larger.
Are they all waterslide or is just the nose art waterslide?
She's one impressive airplane. The build probably took a little over an hour but I'm still doing the decals on day 2. Have not programmed her yet.
Anthony, not sure I'll get any flight time before your WB's over Texas event next weekend. Out of town Weds-Friday. Build yours ?

Congrats to all of you who accomplished your maiden flights today! Some of you may have seen this vid already but I thought I'd post it here. The first half is Michael Lovero's maiden flight on the A-10 he later presented to me at Joe Nall. The second half is my nervous first flight of the model with Rich Baker (RC Informer) flying chase with the FMS A-10. Note that the camera man follows Rich for a while near the end (inverted pass).

Thanks for the reminder, Pete. I went back and searched and found Alpha's note that 6.6v would be fatal to the control board. Ugh. Certainly not fun to read, but I think (yes, fingers and toes crossed, prayers said) I might have escaped anything catastrophic. As an update, the light is working now when the gear is down. Turned out to simply be a bad connector on a pigtail I was using to provide some extra slack to do my testing. Didn't think to check that before I panicked and posted. Bottom line is no power was getting to the control board through the "gear" line from the Rx. So far, all of my testing using the on board BEC and the proper battery shows no ill effects from my brain fart and I have moved the LiFe as far away from the workbench as I can. Hope I can find it again when I need it for my other plane......Originally posted by Pete Lane View PostI asked the original voltage question. Alpha checked upstairs promply. His reply is before page 100 I think
but I can't search deeply from my phone.

Thanks again to you and Steve for the reminder.
Tim- Wishing you a speedy recovery. You have stuff to fly and an even bigger A-10 to build.
Cheers,
Dan

Which Red Devils graphics did you go with? I know which one I'm doing as it hasn't even made it on the full size A-10 yet.Originally posted by dahawk View PostMine is almost rtf. I bought the Red Devils livery from Callie. I love her work but this package was a little disappointing. Lacking in detail . That's why I want to use some of the graphics in the kit. Especially, the details on equipment on the plane. Looks like most are waterslide.

Alright it counts now RCjetdude! :) Nice job on the maiden and good management on the hot landing!
Legman01 you are waaaaay too modest my friend. That was one heck of a maiden, nervous or not. ;)
ColtPilot, get well very soon! You're A-10 will be there for you when you are ready! My YouTube RC videos:

Awesome video. Looking good my friend.Originally posted by RCjetdude View PostThis is some video of my maiden shot by a couple of guys in the club. The first part from start up to take off was shot by one guy and the second part from take off to landing was shot by another. The gun run happens about 3:45.

I'll need to measure the scheme for Callie to do. That way I know it will be right. The devil is going to take some work even putting it on.Originally posted by dahawk View Post
