Several guys at my Club would attest to Spectrum Rx resulting in losses to their expensive charges..Originally posted by OV10 View Post
I didn't find you as "judging" and my comment of judgement was not with regard "of others" but rather "your" judgement of value.
Just because it is pricy and has the Spektrum name doesn't mean it is a "sound" value.
There are a lot of testimonials out there about several Spektrum Rx issues. One that changed my attitude was the AR8000 after several losses because of that $150 POS.
Spektrum Tx are excellent and reasonably priced but the Rx not so much.
Still think you should make the trip to NEFI. LOL

Telling your boss you have Hawg Flu would be more convincing..LOL.. Congrats on being one of the first to receive it.. Look forward to your review..Originally posted by Clearblue View PostThe Santa in the brown uniform, must have heard how patiently I've been waiting. I have been flying Spektrum exclusively for years and never had a single issue with any radio (DX7/DX8/DX9 and currently my DX18) and only one receiver which was junk out of the box (AR8000). I tried the orange rx's from Hobby King and bought 5 and 3 of the 5 were junk. I'm however always looking for a quality, cheaper DSMX/DSM2-compatible rx so Lemon is in my crosshairs. My YouTube RC videos:

1st of all...Thank You Motion RC and all your Staff. Mine arrived today, intact, NO damage, a was every bit AMAZING as I thought it would be. It was assembled in 1.5 hrs, tested, then disassembled for painting. Just a shame I can't work on it tonight due to Band practice (auditioning Drummers). All I can say is WOW. RCJetdude, You have set the bar pretty high, so I got some work ahead of me.....LOL. Br-r-r-r-r-r-rt on My Brethren.

The FMS A-10 I made was for an A-10 pilot and he lives in Washington, MI. How my box arrived with some damage. Getting ready to open it up and see if there's any problems inside the box.Originally posted by Jpahemi1 View PostMine got here at 4 pm today. Zero shipping damage and other than a small nick on a missle rail it's just about perfect. Sure was worth the wait. My plan is finish the assemble tomorrow and get some flight time on it next week. I'll do the detail work and some additional paint work on it after I've flown it.
Like Colt mine will be Michigan ANG. Since I live close to the base and my son is in the ANG it just has to be. Besides they fly over my house.3 Photos

With a roll on a lower sounding snare, just might be able to get a good Brrrrrrrrrrrt out of it. I'll try on my Roland KV set and see.Originally posted by Dlxpkg2000 View Post1st of all...Thank You Motion RC and all your Staff. Hello all,
I'm ready to purchase this 80mm A-10 from Motion R/C as soon as tomorrow to be in Group 2, but first wanted to get some opinions from here if I could.
Would this FW A-10 80mm be a good 2nd EDF model?
My first is the 70mm Freewing Rebel EDF and have at least 20 flights with no issues at all
I have been flying R/C since 1993 and been flying foam Warbirds for the past year.
I currently fly the FW P-51 "Old Crow" Mustang, FL P-38 lightning, FL F7F Tigercat, E-Flight 1.2m Corsair all with no problems at all. I also got a chance to fly a members FW F-86. Felt really comfortable.
I'm just new to the EDF world and don't want to make too big a leap if this A-10 is too much too soon.
Thanks
Eddie

Eddie,
Some would say yes it's too soon, others will say no. Although I've not flown one yet (mine comes on Saturday), I have seen it fly in person and it seems to be a real *****cat. Big straight wing, slows down very easy, looks a breeze to land. Based on your flight experience, I'd say you'd be able to fly it. Although I can't help you with the nerves. LOLPat

This is just my opinion, and I started RC in 1987 and built and flew numerous types of planes. Too many to mention. I have not flown the A-10 yet, it arrives tomorrow. But in my opinion and from what I have seen in the flight videos of the A-10, and your flying the P-38 and a P-51, this should be fairly easy for you...Originally posted by Fast Eddie View PostHello all,

Again, just my opinion, but I would grab one before the price goes up. I ordered a second one last week to customize...

Bigger flies better. The FMS A-10 flies really well. Airspeed and power are your friend keeping airflow over the tail surfaces is a must. Can't wait to put this one in the air.Originally posted by TomPatton View Post

Well, if it's spelled Spectrum with a "c", then that's the problem. It's a Chinese clone:)Originally posted by HellHathNoFury View Post

Please know that I'm joking! Everyone has a difference of opinion due to experiences. Doesn't make anyone more right over another. I just hope Spektrum receivers never let me down. They are way too expensive!

Dang it Tom! Now you have me thinking of picking up a second one. Wasn't even in my thoughts before I just read that. What a great idea though!Originally posted by TomPatton View Post
