Does anyone have a good/working powder cannon/etc to simulate the smoke from the GAU-8?
If so, please point me to where I can get instructions/etc on how to make or buy one.
The video from post #4403 seems to show a working one at about 50 seconds in. Where can I get details on it?
    Thank you.

It would surprise me if all of the 2nd pre orders didn't sale out the whole 2nd shipment as well. Like the 1st shipment did...

Took my time and didnt rush and flew it around mid afternoon. I really need to pratice and get my finesse back on the landings. I had a bouncer on the first approach and went around then got it in on the second pass.
Now if you end up with a not so perfect landing and it bounces on the nose fairly hard, several things to double check.
1 Check the connector pin, it has a sharp relief cut for the set screws and could break there, had one on another break today!
2 Mine didnt break BUT, when back in the pits, the fore and aft play had increased greatly, like double or more than initial preflight play.
Found that the metal plate that is placed over the retract unit flanges was bent a little. I removed the unit and found further that I had cracked the flanges of the retract right next to the pivot pin across from side to side. Ordered the last remaining nose unit in stock, just the retract. The complete unit is still in stock for 39.99.
So when you have that not so perfect landing, check for increased fore and aft play in the nose gear and if found to be noticeably more than the preflight check, check the unit housing for cracking and the metal plate for deformation indicating a fairly hard impact of ther nose strut.
Other than my imperfect landing finesse, the plane flew great and was exceptional. Mine was like the fourth to be first flown this week at the Jam and i would say at least 7+ FW A10's at the meet. Now the AvantiS is runinng a close similar count also for first flights and just great flying all around.
Expecting pilot Ryan and Mike to be present tomorrow at the Jet Jam so looking forward seeing the guys again.
I had the identical situation on my second flight and also found the cracked housing and bent metal plate. New gear on order before she goes up again and corrected a nose heavy problem. As you said, had to get the whole unit.........retract only out of stock...........hmmm maybe others had this problem? Brad

Me too. After 4 flights with 6-7 bounces and go arounds, I broke the pin. Luckily she stood on her nose and slid on the gun. Sand it down a bit on the asphalt runway! On disassembly I noticed my metal plate was in better shape than Sam's but my housing is cracked too. Replacement gear came yesterday.

Hey T-CAT, did you ever get your 90mm nacelles finished? Did you go with the 1450kV or 1550kV fans? Seems the 1450's are harder to come by. Just wondering if you got it finished and if so have you flown it?

The plane has lived up to all of the anticipation and hype so far. All of us who have one love it! Great and easy flyer. I have many gas, glow and electric. I moved up from my first EDF UMX A-10 to this one and it is a ***** cat to fly. They should have another container coming soon with the success that they have had with this one.

Well, it looks like I finished my FMS 1500mm P-47 just in time. According to an email I received from Motion, my Thunderbolt, will soon be joined by a Thunderbolt II.

Unfortunately, I thought I had absolutely everything necessary to complete it. However, when I was assembling the setups in the nacelles, I figured I'd check the motors just to ensure they are the same setups. Good thing I checked! I had one 1450kv power system and one 1550kv setup. I purchased the 1550kv system used and the seller said it was from a Stinger 90, but the Stinger only comes with the 1450kv, ha-ha. Now I either need a second 1450kv system or just go with another 1550kv system. I wanted the 1450kv motors so I can use the stock 100A ESC's and still get good flight times and thrust. I may just find another 1550kv system instead and just use two 130A ESC's I have lying around. It will be higher in current draw then I want, but I can always throttle back, and it's nice to have more thrust on demand then less. Maybe I'll buy a second A-10 ARF and use that as the 90mm workhorse, as well as do a repaint on that jet.

I didn't want to wait on completing the 90mm setup, so I used two 80mm Freewing Inrunner power systems and kept the stock 100A ESC's.

I'm wondering if you could run the 1550's on 5s instead of 6 and still have a low amp draw. It should be able to hold some serious MA 5s packs in the battery compartment
