With an empirical Eta of 79.4% I dont have any problem who buys Ralphs engine. He really has that that part wrong. In fact I encourage his friends to buy it without a doubt. Like he told them there is nothing better.
I just want the Americans to see what it actually is empirically and the problem they may face with such low efficiency. He can advertise it however to whomever and sell as many as he likes . But it has been reviewed with the Eta confirmed by him and it is time for us to examine higher efficiency options. I have found many. I've found over the last 1O years across multiple rc forums that Powercroco will go back a rewrite or edit out things to fill his sales objectives. I wouldn't expect any of that to change any time soon. If you are familiar with him then you honestly know what I am talking about. The eta is 79% and he says there is nothing better.
Do you believe 11 kW @ 79% efficiency and this level of winding work is the best you can get for 800-900 euro? That is truly all that matters because it is YOUR money not mine.
Because I have corralled his outrageous performance reports empirically In turn he will say bad things about us now REMOTELY that have nothing to do with his model motor efficiency or the subject matter. Now he will spend several post talking his way out of the 79% efficiency. What would you do if you needed to sell the thing. Well you might post your old success running in a small class of 20 or so pilots all with motors with similar efficiency. That is hardly world class power. Because you have a competition with 20 pilots and some dude in Germany that knows zero about electric motors deems it A World Championship creating a F3S class no one else in the world competes in or is hardly familiar with.
You see this so you see empirically the man is crazy as hell and cannot be honest about his power output to save his life like I said. He says they have more power to give. You go back and read his worldwide 24kW reports on the motor.
Bro.... I dont have anything else to say about that. except that what he tried to say at the beginning of his bs thread is that because his efficiency was so low ours had to be and he is definitely incorrect about that. We have that empirical evidence as well.
The 8057 Neu outrunner is a lot more efficient for example.

So lets move on....and let them do what they do over there. I'm more than happy with it. I'm going to continue to share some new and relatively inexpensive things that actually work here to improve performance in the small hobby motors. Things that basically any good hobbyist can pull off. You don't get GOD status or an ABB Post Doc Hubertus scholarship award for any of this. Gee wiz....Thanks again

Sorry fellas I wont be distracted by nonsense again. Look at the reduction in iron loss here. If you keep the permeability of the wedge material below 3 mu test have shown you will broaden the efficiency band with no reduction in torque out put. If you had a totally closed slot with silicon steel you would lose static torque. You can play around with the thickness of the material and find a happy medium. This is going to shield the wires from skin and proximity because the slot leakage is less. It is also going to shield the rotor and PM from the slotting effect of the concentrated winding. See how it will help direct stray flux away from the wires and into the iron 👀This should allow you to drive the motor much cooler thus further before she craps out.

Magnetic slot wedges reduce starting current, improve cos phi and load current, and lead to reduced iron loss (core loss). Typical reduction of iron loss is in the range of some kW depending on the type of machine.
