  • Im using the Adm 5000s and so far, all of my flights have been touch n gos , no gear up yet ... no high speed passes and I can get close to 5 minutes with the batts reading around 3.75 +/- .05 so ,if you do ANY high speed ,then yes, that'll bring your time down a bit.

    • I talked to Andy from RCJetwerx.com who is a fellow club member and fellow jet jock. Yes, the 45C 5500's would be an excellent choice. I'm using the 5800 35C's right now and they are fine also.

      • This 14.5 min long. Some great full scale close ups. MRC & FW have really done an excellent job capturing the features of this iconic plane. The Penny pod has been removed the most part:

        • Hey Alpha and Aros, I just had a brainstorm regarding covering up the high vis servos like on the vertical stabilizers. You know how Freewing puts tape over the openings in the fuselage for the carbon spars? Well, when you remove the tape to install the spars the paint sticks to the tape quite well. I'm thinking that prior to painting the plane, you could have the factory place some 1 1/2" tape to a few places that don't show on the fuse or a spare piece of foam and give them a shot of paint at the same time and you're all set with color matched tape to cover up those servos.:Ligthbulb: It would be very helpful and not really cost anything. I sort of did that, I covered the servos with a 5 cm by 5 cm piece of peel and stick vinyl then hit it with some light gray automotive spray can primer. It makes those big black servos pretty much disappear. Since these photos were taken I have also hit the control horns and rods with some light gray to make them less obvious.

            • looks like the Freewing P-51 struts might work with a bit of foam trimming ,not much though

              • Today read this great article about how the A-10 really does get dirty when operated in combat. Apparently its common for the Hog to get covered in black soot when firing the Avenger cannon.
So if any of you really want to make the A-10 look as real as possible here you go!

                • Hey folks, I need a favor if possible. I picked up a second set of bombs but they didn't come with the yellow decal for the nose. Any chance one of you have those decals and can scan them and either send me the scan or just attach it to a post so I can use it to make a template for a vinyl nose stripe.

                  Thanks in advance.

I'm gonna need to rent a wider Uhaul trailer but at least they won't get damaged transporting them.

I think I can make that work, but I need the curved stripes for the nose of the bombs. Can you get a good photo of those, then I can just enlarge it to the size that works.

                        Thanks

That's the way my set came also. Thought maybe it was a one time thing but evidently not. I was going to paint the stripe on but kind of a hassle.
Maybe should send a note to MRC so they can remedy this.

What a great picture! Thanks for posting. I'm going to repeat my call for MRC to offer more ordnance options for the A10, I'd like to able to purchase extra bombs or missiles individually. And I shouldn't have to pay $10 each for them LOL.
And if you look at this picture you can clearly see there are three more pylons on the bottom of the fuselage that aren't included with the model.

                                  • Some people have mentioned adding a carbon fiber stiffener to the fuselage sides. Has anyone really had trouble with the fuselage breaking in that area in a situation where it really shouldn't have?

I'm adding the CF just a precaution. The weight of 2- 6S batteries might put extra stress on that area.
Easy enough to do with minimal weight addition.

If you are going to add any extra weight it is just good cheap insurance and certainly couldn't hurt for the longevity of a stock plane either.
