It certainly is Mike, I've just loaded the car ready for tomorrow. I've swopped out my main gear for the new straight oleos so am looking forward to trying them.

I'm looking forward to the oleo report. I'm painting mine today and hope to have them installed sometime next week.
I did two flights today on the A-10 with the upgrade main and front landing gear , all I can say is like night and day no bounce what so ever , I`m really please i can now finally enjoy this plane , hopefully MRC will offer this plane this way in the near future , not the with crappy gear that it comes with now , over all the plane looks and flies awesome that`s the only reason why I kept it now with this new landing gear is top notch .
No, not one bounce at all in 15-20 landings. Even tried experimenting with different glide slope angles, speed at touch down, stretching the glide etc. In other words, I became comfortable with the TL nose strut immediately after just a few flights. On grass, I am very impressed at how the new TL nose strut performed.
About the bushing I made to limit travel on the new TL nose gear, I agree, there is potential it could pop off due to the vertical slit I made to it. Still have not had a chance to test but hope to this weekend. No matter if the bushing stays in place, I will make another and eliminate the slit.
I was able to test the new TL nose gear (with bushing installed) on grass today with stock mains. No issues at all. 13.5 mm bushing with vertical slit worked without tire contacting rear door. For me, the bushing works well and I look forward to moving to other areas of this aircraft to improve on.
On one of my flights today we had a cross wind kick up during my flight. When I came in to land I wound up stalling about a foot off the ground and plopped the plane down pretty hard. It hit on all three gear together, hopped straight back up in the air about 4" like a rabbit, and came down again and stopped. I'm sure that if I had had the stock nose gear on it, it would have done the bucking bronco routine, but this time the TL nose gear saved me.

This is music to my ears mav. I strongly suspected that this would make all the difference with upgraded gear for some surfaces....like mine. The rain just won't let up enough for my runway to dry out so I'll have to wait a few more weeks. I love the nose art on your new plane crxmanpat. Glad the new nose gear is working for you. Happy Easter/April fools everyone.
Brad
While I was at DM working for US Customs and Border Protection aviation branch and fell in love with the A-10. So I jumped on the first 70mm A-10 to be kitted by LX Models sold by Banana Hobby. Flew great except the plastic landing retractable landing gear. Had to be perfect on landing.
Beautiful day today and I took out my Stinger 90 to get my jet chops back. Lots of touch and go's! So I have weathered my A-10 upgraded gear (mains and NG) and will get those installed this week, hopefully. Looking forward to more of everyone's reports...like Brad, it's music to my ears! I have a new airbrush coming this week and am going to use the A-10 as my experimental pallet...it's never a finished project, right? Rob
I got in one flight on my A-10 with the stock oleo nose gear and new oleo mains. Flew it off of grass up at George's place. Landed without incident. I got it pretty slow by the time it touched down. George got video of it that he might post.
Finally got the Metal Dragon as well as the 357th FS Dragons decals on my replacement A-10. Thanks for the graphics Callie!
Looks great Pat! Mine came with a small red eye dot for both sides of the eyes on a separate sheet to peel off and stick. It doesn’t look like you have the red dot on there, but that may have been on purpose. I almost didn’t spot it when removing the decals when I received them.

What he's talking about is that once he cut a length of bushing from the tube, he cut a slit in it lengthwise so that he could just "clip" it onto the strut instead of having to take the strut apart to slide it on.

You know what, I didn't even notice that was missing from the decal sheet. At least I don't recall seeing them. I'll have to paint some on.

If what Pat has explained is not clear, I posted another pic that should help on rcgroups.
