I wonder how well Freewing will get the quality issues sorted with the first batch before people start offering feedback on how well each one of the kits is in comparison with the rest. As far as personalisation goes how easy will it be to customise one of these and make it more realistic. Does anyone have links to the ordinance options on this too?
Nobody has a production unit yet. Freewing has done a pretty good job getting things right before releasing a model lately. I expect that to be the case with this one as well. Define "more realistic". How much more "realistic" do you want it to be? No specific links to the ordnance outside of what is available here in this thread or on Motion RC website that I am aware of.

excuse my ignorance but what is the difference between the standard and ARF version of this kit? Are the parts available to customise it for your own build scheme

Price isn't always the only thing people take into consideration when buying a plane. I would one day love to have a nice composite like the Roban or even better a Mibo.

        • Hey Autotecart. Just start reading the thread from the begining and you can get all your answers from a to z. Even on customizing a pilot. There are also several videos and there links of the phototype that Alpha has been carrying around to different events. Cheers man and happy reading.you will enjoy.:)

ARF+ typically is the same as the PNP except that it does not include the Fan(s)/ESC(s). Neither comes with a radio or receiver.

Not sure. I was wanting that one too. A lot of their stuff never makes it to the production stage.

                  • will there be a option to upgrade the number of fans to a higher fan capability? I was wondering if you could take the engines out and replace the fans with units that contain more fans in the circle? by doing that it will have a better jet sound to it?

i am not knocking this kit i mean i have one on order so if i am ordering one then i feel its worth parting with my money. But for anything of a scale and size of this nature you would expect it to be looking as close to a real thing as possible. its big enough to include the panel lines, undercarriage rivets wing and tail lighting and even down to the written stencil graphics and wording that appears on a real thing. That is what i meant by more realistic

they produced a really nice prototype, but when i rang the company they said they were having production issues with a suppliers which is a shame as the model really looked great. They do make some great stuff.

You REALLY should go back and read the thread. Pretty much everything you have asked so far has already been covered. In some cases multiple times.
The fans are removable and you can bolt in whatever 80 mm you want in their place. There will also be an offering of nacelles that can accommodate 90 mm fans if you want to go that route.
I notice you said you have one of these on order. Are you sure you are up for this? It's not a beginner EDF by any means.

Hey autotecart, I don,t think any of us want you to stop posting. The interaction and sharing is great and mostly useful. I think , like bill34207 said, if you go back and read the thread from the beginning, including the updated specs, you will learn a tremendous amount of information that is both informative and pretty funny at times. Then you can ask questions from a more informed standpoint. Sometimes I will run accross something hundreds of posts back and it will spark a question in my mind that I can post now with a quote like above to reference the original issue and author of the post. I find this very helpful, and although we don't have the "hog in hand" there's still lots to talk about without being repatitious. Brad:Cool::a10

                              • In October, I attended the Frank Tiano 12 o'clock high in Lakeland, Florida. There was a large Skymaster A10 there with edfs for power. Unfortunately, it went in. I was drooling over the scale detail on that plane.

From what I have been told motion will do a pre order when the units have been shipped

                                  • Because of the extraordinary "buzz" and anticipation on this model, we started the pre-sale earlier than we normally might. ETA is still on target for late May.

                                    • Late may to arrive at motion, or at my doorstep? If you can time it to get to my place on the 5th June (my birthday), that would be cool. (Though I won't complain if it's earlier). :)

                                        • Cheers brother. It's all good, I'm not one to freak out if it's delayed a bit like some do (though 6 months you'll be seeing me spit the dummy lol). I'd MUCH rather the model is held up to get it right, than rushing it out (like some unnamed manufacturers do), and it have issues. Plus, you never know what the deal is with customs. I've had containers come in from overseas and just sit there on the wharf for over a month before I'm given the go ahead to pick it up. No reason given for it sitting there so long, just Aussie customs being their usual thorough selves I guess.

Im hoping eventually there's enough Aussies using motion (I certainly try to spread the word whenever possible, I've been very impressed with you guys to date and it's why you get my money), that the models don't have to make the trip across the pacific to the USA, just to have come back all the way over here. I get a bit nervous about the ups route through 3 USA main states, up to Alaska, across to Korea, then China, then Singapore, then Perth. Though so far everything's arrrived safe and sound from you guys, even though all the outer boxes have big dents in the corners and even big holes in them once. It's gonna be a real pain for both you guys and me if something arrives damaged which we have to replace and return the original back from here to the USA I think. But the extra packing box and bits you guys put inside to try and prevent this happening is much appreciated. But you know those baggage/cargo handler type dudes... :-S

plus, if it came straight from china to me, I'd get mine before you yanks and get to post the first vids of the new models... :)
