Wet the area where the decal will be applied (I just use water, others use various other liquids like Windex and such).
With the backing paper still on, slide the decal off the paper directly onto the location on the plane.
Wet the area around the decal again if needed to get the decal in the exact spot you want it.
Apply a dry paper towel or soft cloth directly to the decal to remove excess liquid. On the bigger decals like the Stars & Bars, bubbles can be removed by gently wiping from the bubble to an outer edge. This also helps to remove any excess liquid trapped under the decal.

I usually give my decals about 5 minutes to dry, then apply a decal setting solution. My go-to setting solution is Walthers Solvaset.
Pat, my ordnance decals came while I was a NEFI. I got them put on last night. They look great! Thank you so much for making them available. They really complete my bird.

        • I agree, the plugs were so tight I had to take a few out and work my way along the board. It was so tight you'd have to go outside to change your mind!LOLBrad

Glad you like them Steve! And yes, they really do help set off the ordnance!

These are still available for you guys who are getting your shipping notices for the second pre-order. Details on the A-10 Mods thread.

              • Does anybody have any experience with sanding the "flowers" or "stars" off the foam (from the mold process)? Is there any special trick to it? Rob

                  Awesome job!
It took 3+ hours to do the entire model. I used a bamboo skewer that I sanded down to about 5/32" and just lightly made the impressions. You do not need to actually puncture the foam, though I did get a little deep a time or three!! I altered the pattern here and there, as well as the spacing for a more authentic look. It really makes the panels stand out. I have her ready for the maiden, and I am going to wait to do the weathering until I have a few flights on her. The paint is Testor's Model Master rattle can in Dark Tan FS30219, Sand Beige-No FS, Testors 2910, and Modern Desert Sand FS33722. Then a coat of Matte Clear Krylon, decals, then 2 sealing coats of the Matte Clear. CRXmanPat's decals are stunning on the ordinance, which I also painted.

Went with the early Northern scheme on mine. Also took a little "artistic license" for visability and added commemorative invation stripes on the nacells and under wing. A big Thanks to Callie for the Red Devil's graphics and special " Metal Hog" nose art.

Great instructions on waterslide application, never done this before but I will use this info, Billy ✈️

                          • Hi everyone, its been a long time since I posted but I follow the forum every day , nice to see all the videos and the information that everyone provides. I finally got to maiden my A10 yesterday, all I can say is what a amazing EDF this is, IMHO I think this is the best Foam EDF ever made. I used the manual settings and the suggestions I learned from this forum to set mine up. It flew with out any trim required, that is the first plane I have ever been able to do that on. My co-pilot who was ready to trim for me was amazed, after one circle around the field I flew it hands off. I was able to do any maneuver I wanted to do, then came time to set up for a landing, now that wasn't easy, fist attempt I was going to fast, so I went around again, second attempt as I settled in the dreaded bounce occurred, so I took off and went around again. Third time around I got it right and cruised right in for a nice landing.I am so impressed with this jet and look forward to many more successful flights. Thanks again to all of you for your input.

                                        • Ha-ha. Maybe that'll be a new nose art, a big slab of Lasagna :Cool:LOL. Does that mean the instead of a smoke canister in the nose, a marinara sauce can is used :Drooling::Scared:?
