    • I was busy with some orders and CAD works in last days, well I did not work on Spitfire very much. Bottom side is almost done for painting and now I am going to open the cockpit.
Today I only painted exhaust stacks. Final coat they will get when I put them back on nose.Click image for larger version

          • I really missed the canopy rails on the fuselage. I cut the a hole for dummy rails and also did cockpit a little wider.
Cockpit is very shallow, so there will not be many details on side panels.

              • Thank you LB!
I got back to wings for a minute and added flap control arm doors. Those I cut from piece of aluminium tape.
MG ports will be covered by fabric tape, but it may will be more authentic if there will be holes in leading edge.

                • I looked at the cockpit closer. Depth of the cockpit area is 40mm. It seem, there will not be a lot of work on cockpit details. Only some braces of the fuselage and small piece of seat. But on the port side I may add radio channel switch and parts of crowbar and throttle quadrant.

                          • Spitfire is getting back camouflage. For masking the light grey bottom side I use our masking tape for very sensitive surfaces. As you can see, no peeling.

                                • Painting is in progress. Fin tricolor is finished, next I will do all roudels.
I was not sure about width of the white field, but I was very happy when I found camouflage regulation for RAF WWII airplanes.

                                        • Thank you ausie! Actually I am in rush now. Only 2 weeks left to event. That is the reason why I closed the cockpit and started painting. I will finish the cockpit later.
