The Atti lock and Trainer modes that come on it preprogrammed are not what I would use. I prefer Self level, normal and off as my modes which is what I normally fly with and works well for me. These modes are available on the E52 but for some reason they picked Atti lock which is useless for this model. I understand them choosing Trainer mode to compete with SAFE but not Atti lock

Why do you feel the need to change the program it comes with?
If it flies well, why not just leave it alone and be happy? If it were me, I'd start messing with it and change something resulting is a poor flying plane or a crash. Others might just then blame Freewing for putting out a bad product.
It's somewhat reminiscent of the FMS planes that came with the Reflex gyro already installed and programmed. Someone at my field bought a second hand plane from a guy who "played" with the programming. His very first flight, he almost lost it. It was almost uncontrollable. Yanked the thing out and will never trust those things again - blamed FMS for a terrible product.

Not saying that at all. I comes programed. If you want to take it out and put it in another plane then you may need to reprogram it but in this plane you're good.
Just because another gyro can be programed without a "card" doesn't mean others can. While I find Johns observation that it looks similar to the HE, that really doesn't mean they are in function. Maybe James can add some info as to function and when the programmer will be available. I'm sure those with the PJ are also wondering (some markets are including the E52 in it).

Because the preprogammed flight modes are not appropriate for the model in my opinion. Most of us buying foamies in this category understand how to properly program a gyro, test it for proper fuction. I myself reprogram all my SAFE receivers and use A3S3 on PNP planes without any issues to fit my style of flying and try keep all my models working the same way. I can say the same about me and Banana Hobby. I bought a few things from them and realized ......................... WHAT AN IDIOT! Not a single one of them flew well and some didn't fly at all. They are trying these days but unfortunately, they try a bit TOO hard (in an obnoxious manner) and the end result is turning potential customers OFF.

The "mode" that people prefer is a very personal thing. I certainly dislike "atti lock" and similar, and agree that it should be made easy to select the mode(s) you prefer without paying for an extra gadget. I have also been careful to say that just because the E52 bears an obvious family resemblance to the A3S3, right down to the pictures in the manual, the available operating modes, data port and the pin assignments, that does not mean that it is firmware compatible with the HE programming card. Try it if you wish, but be aware that it may well not work.

imo, time for some moderators to clean up these pages
stop this type of bashing the product designers choices and operational designs, the bashing of other mfg or people who purchase from them, and spamming the product release thread.

So looking at the clams I’m wondering if a dual servo setup would work for ail/ barn doors for the A-10.
I not sure if you could get the upper to travel down or the lower to travel up enough to act as one control surface, but not sure you would need to.
lower travels down and up stays flat for up lift and upper travel up while lower stay flat for down decent. The Clamerons for air brakes.
I might buy a A-10 wing to see if I can work this. Just thinking.

I'm really struggling with the setup with my Spectrum radio.
As near as I can tell, there is no way to setup the plane without reversing channels in the radio.
Rudder, needs reversing. There are no wires to swap to fix this. Can't tell yet if this is going to be a problem in the gyro.
Aileron/elevator after getting everything to move correctly by switching wires, a gyro test showed the surfaces moving opposite of the setup by the gyro. After undoing everything and getting it setup with reverse in tx it appears to move correctly with gyro movement. In any case it is clear that the manual instructions here are correct in spirit but incorrect with reality.
Elevator, gyro doesn't seem to move this surface much so I can't say for certain it isn't bolloxed.
Much clearer and specific instructions for each radio are required. If I had to guess, the setup was done and tested on only one radio type.
I'd also like a clear testing mode in the gyro to ensure control surfaces are moving as expected.
