See my prior answer to you from a few days ago regarding the nose strut, my friend ;)
Originally posted by Alpha.MotionRC View PostThanks, Delta Dart! Much appreciated. :)
We do have a scale oleo nose strut designed as a separate Option for better looks on pavement, but it will depend on the machining cost and run size if we actually end up offering it. I won't know that until early February.
The powder cannon format is still being worked out. It won't be ready in time for the first shipment of A-10s, but possibly early summer. I wish I could give a clearer timeline for an aftermarket option like this, but at this point I can't. While it's tempting to divert lots of resources into developing a scale feature aftermarket option for a single plane, I must often remind myself that I'm tasked with overseeing ~400 aircraft current and two years' worth of upcoming products from multiple vendors.Live Q&A every Tuesday and Friday at 9pm EST on my Twitch Livestream

Awesome! It is amazing to see the that kind of accessory even in development at all, and will definitely be looking forward to it. I believe you have just sealed the deal on which A-10 I'm getting.. As for the nose strut, I must have missed that last sentence about the timeframe. Will look forward to hearing whether it will be offered or not in the next couple of weeks.

I respect that, man. You have a lot on your plate, and I'm not sure if your job is stressful for you or not, but it sounds like it and you must deal with it extremely well :) since you're in a great mood, still participate in discussions here when you can, etc. Very cool, and massive props to you!Originally posted by Alpha.MotionRC View PostThe powder cannon format is still being worked out. Thanks, Dlxpkg2000! Production begins in about 3 weeks, so plenty of time before Jet Jam.
And Aros is right, years ago I forgot what sleep even is. :) I work two complete shifts, seven days a week, to put these products forward on their best foot. Good to hear from you again Kelly, welcome to the HS forum ;) This is the perfect plane for you and your home grass strip there.... :) Also good to still see some of my old plane you bought hanging up in your hangar living room ;)Originally posted by Legman01 View PostI flew Hawgs in the Air Force 25 years ago......I'd give both my arms to fly it again just once. Glad to hear you two finally connected up. Legman01 is a great guy, I did a bunch of stuff for him a few years ago with sound systems and the older LX A10 while I was still in GA. He has a few of my older Planes hanging in his museum house ;)Originally posted by Alpha.MotionRC View PostLegman01! Good to see you here on Hobby Squawk! It was a pleasure to catch up with you the other day. We'll talk more offline about this Hawg.... ;)
Thank you for your service to our nation. We sincerely appreciate your work! It is for the servicemen and servicewomen who've served with these aircraft that our development team works the hardest to please. If this group is happy, then I am happy.

And that's EXACTLY the reason why we, your customers, are so passionate about MotionRC and your sweet-flying and awesome-looking airplanes. We are extremely thankful of your dedication. Not sure how you function on so little sleep... coming from a guy with several sleeping disorders, I fully understand how valuable a night of good, quality sleep is.Originally posted by Alpha.MotionRC View PostThanks, Dlxpkg2000! I'm on my 2nd F/A-18E (the new one is a V2, the V1 was honorably retired to the wall in the hallway of my Man Cave), a Super Scorpion, and a DH-112 Venom V2 (silver). I've had the F-14, and I'm scrambling to find room on the wall for the A-10. That won't stop me from buying one, of course!
Here are a couple of pics of the retired F/A-18E V1 - served me well for many years - and the V2 with upgraded/brighter LEDs. The A-10 will make a nice addition to my wall.

Fair enough Alpha. I do expect it to sell well though... ;). On the powder cannon, I was waiting for some parts to get here from HK which arrived over the weekend. With that I assembled a much lighter version and resumed bench testing with a new solenoid valve. This much lighter flyable version of the system is now installed in an old Apprentice S I have. Weather is keeping me from testing it at the moment and there are another couple parts to order for some additional changes I need to make but I am getting closer. Yes, I would be very interested in those dimensions or drawing of the nose. Thank you.Originally posted by Alpha.MotionRC View PostGray is what we're starting with. Second schemes are expensive (paint molds are made of copper and form fitted to aircraft surfaces). If the model sells well, we'll consider a second scheme. Probably the green, as Xplaneguy referenced above.
By the way, I need to send the measurements of the internal chamber dimensions to start finalizing the powder cannon's final form factor.

Thanx for the welcome, this site looks like a great bunch of guys!Originally posted by xplaneguy View Post
I was a little ahead of you in the Air Force, Xplane. Started out at Myrtle Beach AFB as a "green as the grass" lieutenant in '82, then taught at the A10 schoolhouse at Davis Monthan in Tuscon for several years. I wound up teaching at the A10 Fighter Weapons School at Nellis AFB (the Air Force version of Top Gun). Went to the airlines just before Desert Storm kicked off. I came a lot closer to killing myself in the Hog (more times than I care to remember), than I did killing anyone else with it. Still got some great stories to tell, but you gotta buy me a beer first!

I was at Nellis by the end of '88, Pat, so I missed you at DM. Played a lot of CRUD with the EC130 guys there! Alpha, TiredIron, and RCjetdude, thanx for the sentiments! I was very proud to serve my country. But honestly, back then I was a bullet proof kid with his hair on fire who'd been handed the keys to the most awesome new toy I could imagine to play with! Mainly I was just having the most fun I could have with my g-suite on.

Such an incredible opportunity you had, and so fortunate to have done so with the very few others that get that same opportunity. It's great to have you on the forum, and thank you for your service.
