By the way, I need to send the measurements of the internal chamber dimensions to start finalizing the powder cannon's final form factor.

So is is the powder cannon going to be DIY or a prebuilt unit? It is awesome to see all of the attention to detail going into this model. Also, any final word on whether the scale nose strut option will be released?

We do have a scale oleo nose strut designed as a separate Option for better looks on pavement, but it will depend on the machining cost and run size if we actually end up offering it. I won't know that until early February.

The powder cannon format is still being worked out. It won't be ready in time for the first shipment of A-10s, but possibly early summer. I wish I could give a clearer timeline for an aftermarket option like this, but at this point I can't. While it's tempting to divert lots of resources into developing a scale feature aftermarket option for a single plane, I must often remind myself that I'm tasked with overseeing ~400 aircraft current and two years' worth of upcoming products from multiple vendors.

Awesome! It is amazing to see the that kind of accessory even in development at all, and will definitely be looking forward to it. I believe you have just sealed the deal on which A-10 I'm getting.. As for the nose strut, I must have missed that last sentence about the timeframe. Will look forward to hearing whether it will be offered or not in the next couple of weeks.

I respect that, man. And Aros is right, years ago I forgot what sleep even is. :) I work two complete shifts, seven days a week, to put these products forward on their best foot. Many of us here at Motion RC burn the candle on both ends because we're so passionate about raising the bar for what our customers can expect.

And that's EXACTLY the reason why we, your customers, are so passionate about MotionRC and your sweet-flying and awesome-looking airplanes. We are extremely thankful of your dedication. Not sure how you function on so little sleep... coming from a guy with several sleeping disorders, I fully understand how valuable a night of good, quality sleep is.

I'm on my 2nd F/A-18E (the new one is a V2, the V1 was honorably retired to the wall in the hallway of my Man Cave), a Super Scorpion, and a DH-112 Venom V2 (silver). I've had the F-14, and I'm scrambling to find room on the wall for the A-10. That won't stop me from buying one, of course! :cool:

Here are a couple of pics of the retired F/A-18E V1 - served me well for many years - and the V2 with upgraded/brighter LEDs. The A-10 will make a nice addition to my wall.

Gray is what we're starting with. Second schemes are expensive (paint molds are made of copper and form fitted to aircraft surfaces). If the model sells well, we'll consider a second scheme. Probably the green, as Xplaneguy referenced above.

Fair enough Alpha. I do expect it to sell well though... ;). On the powder cannon, I was waiting for some parts to get here from HK which arrived over the weekend. With that I assembled a much lighter version and resumed bench testing with a new solenoid valve. This much lighter flyable version of the system is now installed in an old Apprentice S I have. Weather is keeping me from testing it at the moment and there are another couple parts to order for some additional changes I need to make but I am getting closer. Yes, I would be very interested in those dimensions or drawing of the nose. Thank you.

I was a little ahead of you in the Air Force, Xplane. Started out at Myrtle Beach AFB as a "green as the grass" lieutenant in '82, then taught at the A10 schoolhouse at Davis Monthan in Tuscon for several years. I wound up teaching at the A10 Fighter Weapons School at Nellis AFB (the Air Force version of Top Gun). Went to the airlines just before Desert Storm kicked off. I came a lot closer to killing myself in the Hog (more times than I care to remember), than I did killing anyone else with it. Still got some great stories to tell, but you gotta buy me a beer first!

Hey legman, we may have been at DM at the same time. I was there Oct 89 to Mar 90 training on the EC-130H as combat crew. Loved watching the A-10s come and go (along with all the other neat birds that showed up headed to the boneyard).
