Oh well, I guess what's important is that it now works.

This is still my favorite scale jet Freewing has made so far. I’m picky, and it satisfies many of the criteria I look for in a scale RC plane. It’s worth every penny and I really enjoyed flying it today. Below are some pics. I took. We had some great weather, lower temperatures, and a sky that cleared up in the afternoon.

1st try at pre shading. Running 15 psi and using thinned black. Got some good advice on paint consistency! "Go thinner for the pre shade" I will be doing that next session. :-)8 PhotosCurrent Hanger: FW, F4.F22,F14, Byron T-6, Top Flite P-47, Top Flite P-40, Top RC P-51 H9 P-51, SebArt Avanti, Yellow aircraft Spitfire, T Jeti Extreme Flight EDGE, DS-24 Carbon,

Hey E4...The A-10 was my first attempt at pre-shading. My experience was that when I put on the color coat I was in a garage and the poor light, and my concern that I cover the pre-shade, resulted in not enough contrast in the shades. I masked the decals and did it a second time, this time referencing my work in full light as I went. I like the result better. In other words, I recommend it is more about how much or little you put on the color coat that matters! RobOriginally posted by e4dragongunner View Post1st try at pre shading. Thanks for the follow up guys... appreciate your input. As I think about pre shading..... it would seem that the neater and more exacting you are with the shading ( intensity, volume and placement) the easier the color coat is to apply.
In that if you are careful and artistic with the shade, you are not working to cover up mistakes with the over spray. I would like to start adding highlights too...... Well this A-10 is a testbed for my Replacement F4 repaint! Will post more as I go!2 PhotosCurrent Hanger: FW, F4.F22,F14, Byron T-6, Top Flite P-47, Top Flite P-40, Top RC P-51 H9 P-51, SebArt Avanti, Yellow aircraft Spitfire, T Jeti Extreme Flight EDGE, DS-24 Carbon,

If you are thinking about upgrading, and looking to fly other things, then I would seriously consider the iX12. I have a DX9 and I now use it as my backup to my iX12. Fantastic radio. Easy to program and feels great in your hands. A flyer that has the JR 28 loves the sticks. They feel stiff enough and not like noodles.Originally posted by TomPatton View PostWas thinking about upgrading my DX8 to a 9, but that sounds like a complicated animal...

Grass or that red gravel? Mine will but I fly off rough grass. You should be able to get off the ground in 200' but I can't say if it will stop in time. My rough grass slows it down quite well.Originally posted by Grady.c View PostIs it possible to get the hog off the ground in 200 feet? And come to a stop? Its not red gravel but it is like it with some loose sandy stuff. I should be able to get it off the ground in that much space. Do you know if anyone has done a mod that makes it shoot powder? If so could you tell me they they did.Originally posted by xviper View PostGrass or that red gravel? Mine will but I fly off rough grass. Yes, it’s in this thread somewhere. I’d have to search for it so you may as well try it yourself.Originally posted by Grady.c View PostIts not red gravel but it is like it with some loose sandy stuff.
