I spray painted them white to see them better and the decals show really well. Finished them all last night. Most of the full scale ordinance I've seen have been white. Bombs of course are OD with the yellow nose. So much yet to do on this B1RD. Paint the landing gear, install the sound card and figure out a better wing tip strobe.

Tim, the Strobon strobes from readymaderc work well. I just added some to my "Last Tiger" wingtips. Where do you plan to put the sound card?Originally posted by ColtPilot View Post

From what I have read, white was a standard color for missiles and some electronic equipment into the 1990s. They are generally changing everything to light ghost gray now, but you may still see some white on occasion as they use up older inventory. If you are modeling an earlier period, white is okay. If you are modeling currant operations then light gray is more appropriate. I took some modelers license and did my ECM pod and Mavericks in white, just because I like the contrast with the gray, but I did my Sidewinders in light gray and my bombs are OD green.Originally posted by downwindleg View Post
Hey Pat, are you still selling those cool ordinance decals? If so I'd be very interested. Also ColtPilot, is all your ordinance white for a different livery or what? I think the white ordinance would really help with plane orientation in the air. Not to mention the fact that the decals stand out much better. Brad

Plug the throttle leads from the ESC's into your connector board and plug the lead from the BEC into your receiver bind port or battery port if you have one. The throttle lead from the connector board goes to the throttle on your receiver. If I am not mistaken the ESC's don't have built in BEC's so there is no need to lift a red wire although I honestly don't think it would matter if you did on anything other than the red wire from the BEC..

t33jetman.......the two throttle leads from the Opto ESC's plug into the two throttle connectors on the top of the main connection board as shown on page 7 of the manual.
Freewing messed up by not advising about the UBEC in the manual but this was caught early on and discussed in the early portions of this thread.;)Warbird Charlie

While waiting for a replacement nose retract unit after a crappy landing attempt, I decided to play around with a little detailing of a couple of parts. I found an outfit online that sells small plastic clear, hollow, hemispheric domes of various sizes and bought a couple sizes they had to detail the Pave Penny pod and the AGM-65 Maverick tv heads. I found a few pics on the internet to use as a model, and put these together. For a foamie, I think they'll work just fine.3 Photos

That's sick! Can you share the link where you got the domes?Originally posted by davegee View PostWhile waiting for a replacement nose retract unit after a crappy landing attempt, I decided to play around with a little detailing of a couple of parts. would be pretty cool if you could stick a camera in there lol
I joined the sloppy nose gear/ triangle part coming off clubs today. thats all it takes is one not so perfect landing and you become a member... sounds more like a flaw to me if it requires 100% perfect landings 100% of the time. the mains may be robust, but that nose gear sure isnt.www.TSHobbies.com
