The only thing connecting them electrically are the throttle leads. I may need to contact someone at Altitude Hobbies to see what they can tell me. Have you flown your 90 yet?
Very very strange. Are your ESC's using an internal BEC or external BEC and is it wired any different?

I'll be flying the 90mm version this weekend if all goes well. Last weekend was supposed to be the day on Sunday (I flew the 80mm instead since it's been a while). I'm curious to see the difference. My 80mm with the upgraded inrunners has so much power it amazes me for a plane this heavy, and I'm even running two LiPo's that are almost 900g each.

    • Isn't it interesting how quiet everyone from Motion is on this thread????? You would think they would offer some advice for all of these landing issues. How about it Motion RC????

P.S. Make it to land and take off like the A4.

      • Even with the stock ESCs only the one with the BEC will run when plugged in. If you plug the one without the BEC the motor just sits there and beeps until you plug the other one in,just because the receiver isn't powered up. So hopefully you don't loose the battery connected to the BEC,because she going down for the count.
Unless im missing what you guys are getting at?

        • I guess I'm just lucky on the landings and I think for my situation MRC has the landing gear perfect, trailing link on the mains, oleo on the nose. I fly of grass that's about 1.5" thick and very dense, we have a "morning" field, and the dew up till about 10am is real heavy. I call it the Velcro runway, when you touch down, you are down. I've seen reports of people breaking the pin and tearing the nose gear out on a "less than perfect" landing, touching down nose gear first. It's a 13.5 pound bird, land nose first, you're going to screw something up, it should be expected. Then I see reports about people bouncing and punching the throttle and going around, Jesus Christ, if you're able to punch and go around you're going too damn fast to land to start with. I am not able to purchase jets like the E-flite Habu or F4 or the countless other EDF's with little, tiny wheels because of my runway, when MRC came out with this A10 for grass field ops, I was and still am stoked about it.

My "Flying Razorback" is set up exactly as the manual suggests, I fly on high rates only and have dialied out the expo, I think I'm down to about 10% on elevator and maybe 15% on aileron. I chop throttle, drop one click of flaps, it sinks slightly nose high and at about touchdown, flair, no throttle needed, a non event.

          • I have well over 100 flights on my A-10. All but a couple landings on hard surface. I've had a few little bouncy landings, but no death bounce. When first flying this plane, I kept adjusting my battery position till I felt the CG was so that on landings, there wasn't such a narrow window of speed, rate of descent..all that stuff, to have smooth landings.I'll kind of compare this to my CG on the F-86. It makes a big difference on the CG to have those consistant smooth landings. I will admit still, compared to most my other planes. There is a smaller window to nail those pretty landings. As many flights and time I have in the air with this plane, and very comfortable. I still have a little more pucker factor than with my other planes when landing(heaviest plane i own). I concentrate more, during the landing approach and landing.

You have any video of your landing style? We get that Velcro grass at our one field also.

                • Ill get a short video uploaded from my computer, my iPad is having issues with the upload. I only have one video of the A10 and its from the maiden weekend. I didn't get the maiden filmed, my "camera man" was too excited and didn't hit record. I'm not exactly sure where the A10 is balanced, I'm using Admiral 5000's, the back one is as close to touching the plugs that go into the board as it can be and the front battery is as close to the rear one as I can get. If you push the rear of the fuselage down it will sit on the tails and stay there at rest.

I had to upload to YouTube then share the link on here. Doesn't seem Apple friendly on here.

Great video...the opening music really makes it! Super maiden and excellent landing.

                          • Probably one of my best landings. I lucked out on the first take off at this field. Had enough airspeed after I hit the bump and got it into the air. Second takeoff not so much, not enough airspeed hit the bump nosed up came back down on the nose and busted the nose into 3rds. I don’t have the video of that one though.

                            • I managed to snag an ARF + this time around but of course the 90 mm nacelles (that had been in stock for weeks) were out of stock.
I'll just have to keep an eye out for them now as I have the 6s fan setups from my (RIP) F-16 and 8s upgraded F-15.
Thinking I will do this one in a desert scheme.
