WOW!! Looks great so far, love the blown out tape over the gun ports. Just keep doing what you're doing and remember every airplane is better than the last, it's a skill thing and if this is your first (which I find hard to believe) weathering job, can't wait to see the tenth!!

Thank you Grossman. I have done several 1/5 sc Zero's,P-47 ect. but this is the first time I have tried to detail a foam model, did a banana Wildcat first with panel detail paint but this is the first using pastels. I'm enjoying the learning experience with pastels and I can remove my mistakes and try again. Davegee and Elbee have given me encouragement to pursue this. Helps when the Corsair is my favorite warbird. I have followed your posts and you show great craftsmanship in your models too.
Took a break this afternoon and flew my Cub with 8 other club members. Thumb's were rusty but brought plane home in one piece. Beautiful day 55 temp and no wind. Enjoying your tigercat rebuild, please post your rebuilding progress. I learn more from each post.

I think I'll have to get into the pastels as well, something I haven't tried. Are the chalk or oil?

What I am using is chalk. Don't know how the fading will look after a clear coat. Going to test the fading on a dollar tree foamboard to se how it does. The white chalk doesn't show up until I rub it in. Tried some bady powder and man it works great but think a clear coat would make it invisible. A little black goes a long way so using mostly different greys. I look like a clown from all the dust and smudges on me. Or maybe I look that way all the time......LOL Rex

DG, in your second picture, I recognize the first three items moving from left to right. I've printed all 3 of those at least 100 times.

You'll do great, it is a game of patience.

I liked that movie. I, too, will endeavor to persevere. I printed up my little bulldog piece last night on black filament. Came out very well, so I'm going to download the slicer program per your instructions.

Yes, it was. Elbee who schooled me that the Picasso-like looking first attempts were very common for him when he started. Patience is the thing. I printed a near-flawless test piece last night in black PLA, an English Bulldog sitting. It is remarkably detailed. I'm giving it to my wife. We've had Many dogs in our 41 years together, but have taken a fancy to bulldogs the past 20 years or so. We have three right now. The next step is to download the Prusa slicer app on my desktop computer and slowly learn to print up things other than hex nuts and bulldogs, hopefully some parts for this Corsair or other planes. It is truly an amazing new world out there, if I can harness it!

Glad you got out for some flights today and takeoffs equaled landings. That is a good thing. We won't hit 55 degrees for another couple of weeks, but if the wind calms down, I'll still fly.

Sounds like you are picking up 3-Ding pretty fast. Dogs are great and a gift to the wife isn't bad either.
Second time I have flown this year. The wind, temp was great and the guys are a blast to be around. Turned cold today and 40-50 mph winds expected. We have to get thru March before we can weekly fly.

Davegee, I thought of your museum models when I saw this, looked to see if you built it. Don't know if you know the builders but it was a very nice display.

Elbee, I hope you can use some of these to detail the scale nose gear on the P-38 and leading edge flaps/gear, ejection seat on your F-86. Waiting patiently to see your 3-D results.

If anyone travels thru Dayton, OH it is a fantastic museum. Need to spend at least a day or more to see everything. We didn't go to the restoration shop on this trip, but it is full of on-going restorations.
