I've flow three different packs in my 6S. RT 5800 35C for 3:45 to 3.8v per cell. Hobby Star 5200 50C for 4 minutes and Hobby Star 8000 100C for 6 minutes but it usually comes down at 3.75V per cell.

I ran a 12S 5000+ watt (melted down AstroFlight 12S 100 amp wattmeter) on 5000 mah 25C packs for years.Originally posted by wolpertinger View PostHave a question for the collective knowledge base out there. My F22 is 6 cell and I have 2 batteries to choose from in my inventory. Roaring Top 6250 35C; Gens Ace 6200 60C. The 6200 Gens Ace is heavier but would like to run the 6250 Roaring Top due to weight and flight times but worried about the "C" rating.
Your suggestions?
Higher C would have given a marginal power increase.
For a long time, 25C was the best you could get.
If you do the math on the high C ratings vs the current rating of the wires on the packs, a lot of the wires would act as fuses before you hit the current the battery is "rated" to deliver. 35C for a 6250 mah pack means they say it can deliver 218 amps... If they mean it it should have # 2/0 Gauge wires. (Heavier than common arc welding cable)FF gliders and rubber power since 1966, CL 1970-1990, RC since 1975.

You will have to open the fork just a little for the F-16 wheel to fit on the Avanti Nose Gear.
You will have to cut the F-16 Landing Light Clip right up to the Light Mounting Post so it will clear inside when retracted. Both are very easy to do

e4dragongunner. I have this CG machine. Did you use to balance your plane? I am at this point now. Thanks.

I was getting 3:30 with about 25% left afterwards, enough for a go-around or two if needed.Originally posted by Twowingtj View PostWhat kind of flight times were you getting with the 6250 packs Pat? I picked up some RT 3S 3300mah packs for a bird and got no better flight times than I did with 3S Tgy 2650mh packs. I was a bit underwhelmed, so am reluctant to try RT 6S 6250 if flight times are not better than Admiral 5000mah packs.Pat

:Drinks::Party:I just used Tamiya XF-12 and some post it notes and a soft brush... Took 5 minutes start to finish... :Cool:Originally posted by purduephigam View Post
Great question. This didn't even cross my mind. Oh well, easy mini project if I ever find myself twiddling my thumbs. Might actually spray the main gear lights a little to dampen the amount of light output.

Thanks Brad- I don't know about the park thing but they work (on the bench) so that's good- we'll see how the flying part goes in the spring! I shall, however, be doing extensive wind-tunnel testing, as I did with the A-10 canopy. (Let 'er have it with my 200 mph leaf bower!)Originally posted by downwindleg View Post
Wow Tom, you've knocked it out of the park once again. Looks like allot of work. Looking forward to the video.

The RT 6250 35C does great unless you fly wide open all the time:Cool:Originally posted by wolpertinger View PostHave a question for the collective knowledge base out there. The esc and bec are the same on my phantom. I never liked the looks of the skinny wires coming from the bec and 5amps didn't sound like much. Since I had to resolder the backwards positive lead on the esc I replaced the bec with an 8 amp ZTW esc.Originally posted by wolpertinger View PostThanks for the information on the battery packs. After reading some posts looks like the BEC needs replacing.

If you went with an 8A ZTW BEC what is the input rating on it?Originally posted by Quickstop View Post
