Centreburner is a 'cyclone' from RC Castle. Much love to the community members who make the afterburner kits (I have them on my jets too!) but stateside shipping and the current aussie dollar rates against the USD are killer. The cyclones are great units for the price - nice and bright, neat flicker effect and a button on the controller to calibrate the throttle axis.

I would have maidened her tomorrow AM but the battery in the ute (like a truck but built around a sedan - see pic) is dead flat. So, fingers crossed for sunday. In the meantime, cleared a nasty clog in the 3D printer hotend to pimp out the cockpit.
Love the pickup! That is a Holden correct? I was so close to getting the USA version of that car here. They called it a GTO here but man... they ate up the trunk with the fuel tank and some other safety equipment which was a huge no no for me since I am an RC addict and need plane storage! Loves the rumble of that big ol 6.0L V-8 though!! Its a beast!

I have seen the Cyclone design and while the light is really good its not that great for the airflow. I know Its also really cheap to have it shipped to you instead of from here in the usa as well. Do whatever works for you!! Thats all that matters right? This hobby is about fun!! i do send stuff all over though! Just sent 4 different places in europe...

That's the one mate. They were built here in my hometown (Adelaide was Australia's motor city) but manufacturing shut down years ago and recently GM decided to completely kill off the Holden brand completely. Real sad. Those big pushrod LS motors deliver some beautiful power, you pay for it in fuel though lol. Fits an AL37 in the back with the wings on so it's perfect for me!

Agreed on the cyclone design. The inrunner ones arent too bad (pretty much flush with the motor) but I am thinking if I could design and print something for the outrunner that would smooth the transition (or even put my own light on there and just use the controller).

You are certainly the undisputed king of afterburners man, you and the other guys designing these things have really changed the game!

Well I took the plunge. My F22 is scheduled for delivery tomorrow. My first Freewing and only bought this because Pilot Ryan highly recommended it and he has only flown the 6s version. Have two 4s 5000 100c on the way and will also use a 6s and 2s 50c combo. What has been working best to get off the grass fast?

Got the cockpit done today. Modelled a little print for the canopy hydraulics from those photos of the unfortunate gentleman who had to be cut out of one of these - probably not terribly scale but classified interiors make for difficult models lol.

Spencer Keith Welcome to HobbySquawk well on 8S (also 6S) the F-22 will handle grass very well, you can try to give it a little take-off flap to get into air sooner. But normaly let her run and when you think she is fast enough give her a little elevator and she flies.

Shoot me an email or PM if you'd like a bunch of spare parts for it that I have lying around ... set of wings, tanks and several sets of vertical stabs in different liveries. A couple of false starts on the heavy, wet grass but once I found a patch of relatively short stuff she was up and away. Probably not helped by the conservative CG for a maiden. Needed more aileron trim than I like so will have to re-check the elevators and make sure theyre level.

Other than that, felt nicely locked in. Switched the gyro on for the 2nd, 3rd and 4th flights and felt even better.

It gives the battery a good workout at full throttle hey!

I wouldn't, she is perfect as she comes out of the box, only thing I would install is the nose gear brace.
