Left to Right. Frank (From ForceRC), Rich Bake (RC Informer), Michael K. (From MotionRC CS), & Kelly Legget Flying the FMS 70mm and FreeWing 80mm A-10's together and in formation @ Joe Nall
I was priveledged to witness this today. MRC gave Kelly (legman01) the A-10 as a thank you for his service as a former hawg driver and support. He then flew it in formation with Rich and the FMS A-10. It was a beautiful sight. I took one of my freshly painted wings and got Kelly's autograph on it. It was really great meeting fellow Squawkers and getting to see both A-10's fly for the first time. Kelly was very appreciative and said he was nervous but did a spectacular job of flying. It was an all around awesome day at the Nall. The only problem was that my phone battery decided to die on me so I couldn't get any pictures.

        • I got my Nerf Footballs from Amazon and got the whistles cut out. I just used scissors and cut around the perimeter, it didn't take a lot of effort to get them out.

Brad, do you recall the DC-3 that used to sit on the edge of I-5 at Bellingham airport??
I was one of the guys who scooped it for our DC-3. The wings and a fair amount of parts are hanging on ours in Langley BC.

Yes, I totally remember that DC-3. Don't really remember when it went away but I'm glad some of the parts went to a good home. So, if you've been to Bellingham you must know where the San Juans are where we live. My wife and I go up to Bellingham from time to time for some "retail therapy" as we call it.We've spent a fare amount of time up in Vancouver and I've been meaning to get up to the airshow in Abbotsford for years. Love Victoria as well. Brad

Yeah dkalwishkey, I got mine as well and have removed one so far. I wound up using a screwdriver to dig it out. Scissors sound better as I'm trying to preserve the ball for my grandson. I now understand the difference in sizes which was referred to in the video. The overall size is the same but the whistle slot is different in size for inboard vs outboard on the nacelles. Brad

What I might try to do is use the FW F-16 circuit board for the nose gear and door. I have a spare. Also the A-10's no longer have the pod on the right side hanging down. I'll be cutting that off. Then again, kit bashing is fun.
I picked up one of these from Motion and plan to locate it where I can set it either way depending what I am flying off of.

                                  • Guys, did you ever ponder what "a perfect day" would look like? I think I came close to achieving mine yesterday.

Phase 1 was Arriving at Mecca....Joe Nall. Enough said there.

Phase 2 was an hour later, when my new friend Michael Lovero, on behalf of Motion RC, presented me with a brand spanking new A-10! This was a total surprise to me, and I am truly honored and humbled to receive it! As an old Hog driver and RC nut from the 80's, I've been dreaming of this very model for over 40 years, and Alpha and his team have nailed it!

Phase 3 of my perfect day was to turn around and walk 10 feet to the flight line, and fly this Beast with the likes of Richard Baker, RC Informer, flying wingman with an FMS A-10! Shut the front door....epic!!! The bird flies rock solid like it's on rails, with plenty of power. I felt comfortable with it immediately, despite my first flight jitters.

I gotta admit, guys, flying this FW Hog might have been as big a thrill as the first time I soloed a real Hog 35 years ago...pure adrenaline, joy, fear....I think I spotted a little.

Phase 4 of my perfect day....well, use your imagination on that one ;)

More flying the next two days here at Joe Nall, and more to come from me about this fantastic model! Any of you forum guys at Joe Nall, please stop by and visit me and Michael. We're set up across the road from the electric flight line charging station.

                                    ATTACK!!!!!!!

                                      • It was sooooo awesome to be there and meet Michael, Kelly, Carlos, George, etc. and see this unfold. It made my day getting Kelly's autograph on my A-10 wing (my phone died so Kelly was kind enough to let me use his to get pictures of it). Thanks for the vid George! My daughters kept going on about how epic the Nall was and even though I was only able to be there the one day I would still have to agree. Thanks for making it epic guys!
